Emma Swan was finally living a stable, albeit lonely, life in Boston when Henry Mills showed up and announced she was his mother. After taking him back home to Mayor Regina Mills, Emma finds herself sticking around longer than intended. What is going on in the town? And why is the mayor so incredibly attractive?

The one where Emma is aware of her attraction to Regina Mills right away, and something happens between them during the events of season one instead of never lmao. Things diverge from canon pretty quickly. I'm using the premise of the show, but outside of Emma coming to Storybrooke and meeting Mayor Regina, I'm largely playing with or even disregarding a lot of canon once Emma has decided to stick around and writing a What Could Have Been within the universe the show creators presented us with in episode one.

Despair Chapter 21

Hi, all - for anyone still interested, chapter 21 of 22 has posted. All that's left now is the epilogue and I hope to have that up before May.

Chapter Word Count: About 16K

Story Summary: Henry Mills has grown up, but he’s not the boy we remember. Somewhere between the day when his moms took him to college and the night when we meet him again ten years later, he fell in love, had a child and oh, lost his family completely due to a new curse which appears to have destroyed Storybrooke. After spending a decade trying to find his home and his mothers again, he’s just about lost hope until one night when he finds Regina inexplicably working as a waitress in a diner not far from where he lives. The only problem is, Regina thinks she’s a woman named Elizabeth Carson - a cursed personality radically different from her actual one. Determined to bring his mother back to who she actually is, he begins a perilous mission which will see Regina and Emma reunited, their love for each other tested, and all of their lives changed as each of them is forced to face the demons of their past and present in order to save each other, their family and their home.

Chapter Summary:  The second half of the final battle with the Black Fairy and all of her mind-games; Emma struggles against her doubts and fears as her body fails her; the Queen and Elizabeth must put aside their issues with one another and come together to re-join with a physically and emotionally Regina so that all together, they can save both Emma their family; Storybrooke fights back.

Regina Mills has a plan to get rid of the Savior, once and for all. It goes a little like this

Step One: Gain the Savior’s trust. Step Two: Win the Savior’s heart. Step Three: Crush the Savior’s heart so completely that she runs far away from Storybrooke and never returns.

It’s St Patrick’s day and Regina isn’t wearing green. Emma can tell because she has eyeballs and they have roamed the entire expanse of the former Queen’s body and no, no green.

Before emma even makes it even remotely close to her, regina’s back turned, some paperwork being shuffled through in her hands, she’s stopped by her rich, raspy voice with a mild hint of a threat in there.... and something else. (Whatever it is, Emma stops, pouts).

“Pinch me, Miss Swan, and i promise i’ll destroy everything you hold dear.”

Regina might joke that Emma is slow on the uptake but shes quick with her response. “Plan on destroying yourself, then?”

Regina pauses. Huffs, flustered.

Emma continues, “but, you’re not wearing green.”

Regina turns then, eyes raking down Emma’s fit form (dark green button up shirt, tucked into blue jeans that are sinfully tight, brown belt...) before raising that perfect eyebrow at the blonde, “arent I though?”

Emma gulps. Looks at Regina’s attire again. “i don’t... see....”

Regina had been saving it for later but of course her blonde counterpart always puts forks in her plans, eyes rolling Regina turns and discards the paperwork on her desk before turning back around with her fingers already clasped around that evil button, undoing it.

Emma gulps.

A flash of green satin on ample olive skin graces emma’s vision.

“You were saying, Sheriff?”

Emma has seen Regina in just a bra, and topless obviously, numerous times, but each time is like a revelation to her. Even just a flash of it her bra sends her gaping. The more she gapes, the more confident Regina gets.

“Yep, that’s green.”

“indeed it is. Now, obviously we didn’t have St. Paddy’s day in the enchanted forest but i’ve spent enough time in this realm and with henry to learn a little about its history. Wearing green, people using it as an excuse to drink green ale until they’re blacked out, pinching people who don’t wear green, leprechauns and pots of gold,” she steps closer to emma, predatory in her walk, “luck.” She moves those fingers down to the next button to undo, “Are you feeling lucky~ Emma?”

Emma’s eyes are glued to the green bra and the fingers dancing near it, but she nods.

“Then how about instead of pinching me, as you see now that i AM wearing green, you put your fingers to better use, hm?”

Emma swears, “Regina....”

“Lock the door.”

Chasing The Sun • T • Chapter 6/6 – NOW COMPLETE

At first, nothing happened. Emma, up until this point had never been stabbed, so she hadn't been expecting the excruciating pain that spread from her chest, reaching across every inch of her body. She felt her grip loosen around the stake, felt the life slowly leaving her. This was it, this was the end. Breathing became difficult, and remaining upright was becoming too much of an effort to bear. Her head lolled back against the back of the chair, and her eyes fluttered closed. As her breathing slowed, she heard a pained No! from behind the glass.
