there were these three girls, triplets, and they lived in this big hunting lodge type of thing out in the woods, and they all developed powers, one after another. The one that developed first had the power over ice, and her father took her out to comfort her and find her a familiar to focus on to help her anxiety. She chose a fox they found.
The second to show had the power over fire, and her father did the same, and she chose a cute little sparrow. Since it was winter, the sparrow was all fluffy .
The third one didn't seem to be showing any powers and the mother, who had no powers, blamed the father, who did, for two of their little girls having powers.
The second girl, the one who had the fire powers, attracted the attention of some great body-less entity, who began to haunt her dreams. In the dream space of this world, people with powers had something called a 'box', wow how creative, but it like...held all they were capable of? I don't know, it was all symbolic or something. But the evil entity thing showed up on the fire girl's box, and the rest started to kind of fade. The entity was pretending to be her friend, so she didn't say anything to her parents, and, eventually, it took over.
She burned the house down, and a great deal of the forest around them, and ran away, possessed by the evil. I'm not sure what happened to the ice sister, because she didn't show up again until later, but the sister who had been like..powerless? took shelter in her father's study, which had an underground part that he'd hidden from them.
When she finally emerged she found the house burned, her sisters gone, and her parents dead, but she found her father's journal, and when she read it she found out about the entity, which was some evil god or something? She found out that her father was worried it'd be attracted to the fire sister, due to her powers and personality.
She packed up most of the books, all she could carry, along with any food that was left, and a sword, and she set off to find the ice-sister and find a way to save the fire-sister.
It kinda time skipped a few years, and they were grown up, and the entity was like, inside the fire sister, and spots of her skin were discolored, really darkly.
The powerless sister was traveling with some guy that had the same markings, like he'd been possessed by the entity too, so he knew a lot about it, and he wanted it to go down because of what he'd done when possessed? and the places that his skin was dark were the only places that could really hurt him or something, so to take the entity down they'd have to attack there.
And they managed to track her down and attacked her, and instead of the entity leaving, the fire sister died, but he trapped her soul or something? and said that, because she was dead, he could open her 'box' and take full advantage of her powers, and he took over her body and she burst into flames like a phoenix but didn't die.
And then it time skipped and it was like, modern day-kinda apocalyptic, and anyone with powers that had a familiar had the ability to change into the animal instead of it being separate. And all these people were going missing, and when they showed back up they were in the entity's employ.
And the powerless sister found out that there was this giant brain washing facility, and if they could take that down they could take down the entity. and they'd been hitting buildings for a long time.
So she and the guy from before, who had kinda been...reborn? or something? I'm not sure, but he didn't have the dark spots anymore, they and their team of people hit the facility, and it was kind of a blood bath, because some people were already brain washed, and others were confused because they were almost all brain washed.
They were sweeping room by room, taking people down, freeing people from these...glass coffin looking things? and helping them out, and the powerless girl was saying she was going to find the information core and see what she could find.
So she went to the bottom of the building, underground, and there was this room before the core, and there wall these symbols carved into and painted on the wall, but they didn't work on her.
So she got into the room, and it was empty and a sphere, with a pathway leading to the main thing...kind of like Cerebro from Xmen. It was this tall metal pole, and it looked like parts of it were spinning around, and she walked up to it and there was this panel, and she opened it, and instead of being information it was a timer, and the pole broke open and revealed...some kind of black and twisted sword? Idk, but it was all glowing red and she realized it was a bomb. The entity was going to destroy all of them in the rubble of the building, and they had like five minutes.
She ran for the door but just before she got there it closed, and she realized it was a trap for her, so she grabbed her radio, which somehow worked, and told the second in command dude that he needed to evacuate everyone they could in the next few minutes, and when he asked why she said there was a bomb. He asked about her, and she was really quiet and told him there wasn't any hope.
He hesitated before ordering everyone to move out, but they free as many people as they can and help them out. They all barely make it out of the building alive before it went up. The powerless girl died, but there was some kind of weird limbo? Where she met the fire sister's soul, and it was kind of like, trapped in a cage, the real her, and the one that entity had taken was twisted and no longer even close to what she was, so she was her own spirit again. They had some kind of weird...family reunion.
When the building was settled, the others left were determined to at least retrieve her body to give her a proper burial, so they spent hours clearing rubble so they could find her body. And it took a looong time before they finally found her, but she wasn't dead, she was regenerating, like Wolverine-style. Like that was her power, or something.
Once she was free of the rubble she stumbled up and grabbed the sword from the core-bomb-thing and said they could restart the world again with that, they just had to find the other part of the machine, the part that could contain and channel it's power.
