Love that the internet has watered down serious terms so much that now whenever I hear "that celebrity is racist" or "they're a homophobe" I have to do a ten minute deep dive to figure it out for myself and half the time the person in question said something mildly ignorant eight years ago and has never said or done anything else since yeah love that so much it doesn't make it 100x harder to root out actual bigots and hold them responsible at all or anything
I've been a 1% angrier person overall ever since I figured out why companies with perfectly good products and longstanding reputations suddenly change to the cheapest/worst quality possible
When a director/showrunner does an adaptation most of the time they get quoted saying something along the lines of “we’re changing some things because that way it’s still an exciting experience for fans of the original work and if they just 100% stuck to the source material those fans would be bored” and am I weird for, like, violently disagreeing with that? Stop pointlessly changing shit! Of course I know what happens! I don’t care! I want to see the original story in a new medium! That’s what excites me! They’ll really be out here saying “what if this pivotal scene the original is known for never happened” and I’m like what if you just wrote an original story then??? or adapt something else???? If you don’t want to adapt the story don’t adapt the story! Fuck!

.................you know I was having the best time until the EXU PC reveal. Orym will be fine I guess, except he was a bit boring. I liked Fearne as a one off idea for Ashley but was really glad she wasn’t a C3 character for several reasons...so uh....yeah. Robbie as a special guest is fine but feels kinda weird when it’s literally the first episode. I’m sure they have things planned in the long run but my smile definitely faded when I realized what was happening. Also I kinda wanted to meet everyone at once, this feels weird already knowing two of them but not knowing at the time that they were gonna be THE characters.

TRAVIS, FINALLY YOU’RE HERE AND you brought back Bertrand???? I mean.....he was a great silver fox except Travis said ‘70s/80s’ for his age and that is...unshippable. But also I was so excited for a brand new slate of characters and here I know almost half the cast already. I’m sure I’ll get used to it, but...it’s weird. Also I wanted to see what Travis would come up with next...and then he didn’t.

I saw someone theorize that Bertrand is gonna stay around long enough to introduce a plot hook and then reveal his real character (because Bertrand for a whole campaign is kinda ????), which would be such a god tier move that I’m actually gonna be sad when it doesn’t happen. (Although watching the cast make old jokes for three years? Hyped.)
...Sam jokes about Bertrand and Orym being the first ship of C3 but little does he know that I’ll de-age Bertrand on a moment’s notice if given even half a reason.
