@hero-of-skies liked for a (groose) starter
The entire situation was so profoundly unfair in ways that Groose couldn't even begin to verbalize.
The Hero? Not him. The one who got to travel beneath the clouds? Not him. The one saving Zelda? Zelda, the love of his life-! Not him.
All of it instead was Link.
It would have been near-impossible for Groose to properly explain the feelings that twisted inside of him whenever he saw Zelda, or Link, or Zelda with Link. A heated dark jealous that was coupled with a flush of shame, both of which being emotions and feelings that he could not acknowledge. He simply could not - and so they were pushed out of place by another feeling, once that was much easier to sink his teeth into: anger and irritation.
Toward Link.
Link who was only doing good at his studies because of Zelda (or so Groose thought). Link who was her favorite (for no good reason!). Link who now got to be the hero, and why? Because he was special?
It was what had fueled Groose into doing something as stupid as lunging into the air to try to grab Link, forcing him to take him beneath the clouds as well.
"--- wha'dya mean, I can't just go back now?" The words were grumbled out as he glared at the blond, quietly seething to himself. "You're able to come and go as you want. Now I'm stuck here?"
