Love it when a webnovel/manhwa has a protagonist who's a schemer, has no regard for their self-preservation, and a babygirl/lowkey malewife and their second lead being a cold and hardened, steel-faced badass and regularly having to put up with the protags bullshit and constantly saving their ass from their self-sacrificing tendencies.

And also like, when they essentially raise a kid (maybe several) together and (at least) one of them is an orphan and knows the weight and responsibility of being a good parent and wanting the child to have a happy childhood that the protag/second lead didn't have.

every time i think about the heavenly demon arc i think about how kim gongja does all the bows for the heavenly demon. i think about how he got there and how every feeling is sincere. every feeling is raw, and he bows more for each thing he doesn't yet understand.

he bows 336 times for poison. he bows 189 times for illness. he bows 510 times for blunt impact.

kim gongja only needs to bow once for death by fire and death by self.

his neck only aches at the end of it, and that wrecks me every time.
