Standing In The Light - Mary Pope Osborne

Last year when I was in the seventh grade I read a lot of American Girl stories. I read just about every single American Girl book that was in my then school library. I loved reading them because they were diaries of girls from waaayy back many years ago and I felt as if I was traveling back in time, as if I was actually right there with them. They were all great books, but the one that's stuck with me, and probably will for many years to come, would have to be Standing In The Light by Mary Pope Osborne. That book was an emotional roller coaster. It made me happy, sad, and that fluttery feeling you get when you read a romance story. It was so good that I'd re-read it over and over again. And trust me when I say I NEVER and I mean ever re-read books unless they're absolutely amazing, which Standing In The Light was. It's one of those few books I've read that makes you realize not all stories have a fairy tell ending with the happily ever afters. And shows you that life can be cruel and merciless. I remember crying when I read the Epilogue of that book becase it was just so sad. I can honestly say that that book is definitely worth reading and that everyone should read it. I promise you won't regret it.
