What were their first impressions of one another?
Well, basically, I think once Stanislaw got to the court and saw Lyudmila, he was amazed. Maybe not specifically in a romantic way, since their love was developing over time, but she's a princess, she's graceful, she's elegant yet intelligent and wise, so he definitely was admiring her since the day one.
Lyudmila's thoughts towards him may be more restrained, since she saw him more as a new member of the court, but she knew about his courage and resourcefulness in defending the dragon, so she definitely respected and admired him as well.
Do they have any pet names/nicknames for each other?
Definitely not the animal ones XD Anyway, I think "darling", "sweetheart", "my love" may be the ones they use and Stanislaw may also call Lyudmila "милая", because it's kinda a pun ×)
And those are not particularly nicknames, but when there's just two of them, all kinds of diminutive names are coming the way <3
Are they affectionate in public? Is it too much?
Well, at this point, I think they may be a bit playful or flirty with each other or maybe even show some physical affection, like holding hands, but it's definitely not "too much." Like, if you look at them during any important event, it's perfectly clear that they love each other, but they remain royals, so I don't think they would allow themselves to be too affectionate in public.
