what the fuck how am I just now learning that Starcadian died?!?

God…. Fatal car accident while he was biking, and about to be a new dad. He was only 44, and working on a new album.

Jesus Christ. I am seriously saddened by this. I fucking love his music and I think Midnight Signals is one of my favorite albums. Fantastic EDM, “sound movies” I think is how he described some of his music as he’d do non-lyrical instrumental covers of his own music.

to me, starcadian’s music is the spirit of late nights. it’s climbing onto your roof to watch the stars. it’s 1am downtown drives when the city’s all lit up. it’s watching old sci-fi movies way past your bedtime. it’s the slivers of moonlight coming through the blinds. it’s realizing how small your place in the universe is, but looking at it with wonder instead of fear.
