I was under the impression he and Alexis weren’t friendly with anyone from their old life. I’m assuming it was just a throwaway line to bring up adding to the cost with another table, but I found it strange.
i don’t really get the impression that david actually talks to his ny friends anymore, no. i feel like it’s entirely him wanting to kind of rub his happiness in their faces. he’s got a successful business and a great husband-to-be and hes really and truly happy in a way he never was in new york, and he just wants to show that off.
but i also think that there’s quite possibly part of him that just wants to see if those old shoes still fit. are they the kind of people he would want to be friends with now (and vice versa)? does he still have a place in that world or has he totally outgrown it? i think we probably know the answer to that already, but i could see him wondering about it enough to decide to invite them and really see.
