ENIF AND HIKARU ARE DATING IN TOMODACHI LIFE

Godai Hikaru

Hikaru is a bubbly, passionate, and incredibly stubborn girl in a hurry to grow up. She's giggly and cheerful around friends, but tries too hard to legitimize herself to adults or authority figures, standing up as straight as possible and speaking (often shouting) overly formally. While easygoing by nature, she also feels a strong pressure to do something important with her life due to a variety of factors, and an anxiety that every moment that passes without her doing so is a personal failure.

She was born premature after multiple complications and her health as a baby often fluctuated wildly, causing her first year of life to be a very tense time for her fathers. Although she - and their relationship - pulled through fine in the end, she subconsciously feels a need to "justify" her survival and the "trouble" she caused, as if she's forever paying for a crime she didn't commit. Not only that, but she looks almost identical to Godai in the face, even having a mole in the same spot on her chin, and his legacy of saving humanity single-handedly as a Rider looms large over her.

None of this comes from her fathers, at least not intentionally. They are very protective of her ever since childhood, and in fact don't want her involved with Rider business under any circumstances. They were skeptical even about her friendship with Enif at first, but after befriending Yuuto and Deneb themselves, were comforted some- but it's only a matter of time until they discover Hikaru is helping Enif in her Rider work.

And speaking of Enif... she rescued Hikaru from a kaijin attack a few months into her career, and ever since then, Hikaru has been hopelessly head-over-heels and devoted to her. She begged Enif to let her accompany her to fights and teach her how to become a Rider like her, and Enif didn't need much convincing. To Hikaru, Enif is the most incredible person alive, and she's just along for the ride. (The crush is mutual, which neither of them know.)

Hikaru feels an intense pressure to do something important with her life due to who her parents are, and is in a rush to grow up as fast as possible. She wants to learn how to fight to help others, but after everything that happened with Kuuga, her dads are (understandably) very against letting their daughter go anywhere near being a Rider, for her own safety. When she runs into Enif fighting one day, she sees it as fate, and seizes her chance to make Enif her mentor (and more down the line ///°-°///)
