Where did you watch it the first time round? I have the s1 dvd so i guess I'm not missing out on anything but I'm really curious about the differences you're noticing???
@staroz Originally I watched it on a spanish streaming site because no matter if I tried the Sundance site or the BBC site, I couldn’t access it because I’m from Germany. Like, I couldn’t even access it with various IP-blockers and all ad-blockers off.
Now the show is on ONE, which is a sister channel of ARD, the main TV channel here in Germany (”öffentlich rechtlich”). And well, they have upped the image quality to a stable HD and the audio is extremely good (also the German synchronization makes it even easier to comprehend everything that is going on).
But yeah, the differences are HUGE. I watched the English version of season 1 twice, so actually I wouldn’t be surprised by anything happening on the show.
Due to the better image and sound quality, I’m literally in awe over what I have missed. Like, background sounds, the scene in the bar between Slade and Koen (I hadn’t realized before that Slade was searching for the term Heterochromia or that he told Koen that he’s got an interesting eye there).
Honestly, I also missed some of the puns Waruu has made, I missed the full dialogue that was on the video tape and much more.
Actually I’m shocked what a difference there is between the English HD version on a semilegal streaming site vs. the German HD version. It’s crazy!
