Gonna go off the usual route and ask a few questions on here since I don’t know where else to get reliable answers 😭

Do age gap relationships work? Like older man x younger woman? I’ve had this question bother me for a long time now.

I had a big age gap with this one guy i talked to platonically but his intentions were quite obvious and he was very dishonest about his life.

if anyone has been/is in an age gap relationship please lmk if it works and how it functions exactly because I feel like my view on it is way too narrow.

hi lovely !! saw your post about age gap relationships and wanted to stick my nose in if that’s okay haha :)

first of all i will say that having an age relationship can infact work if both parties are in it for the right reasons and rather don’t mind the age gap instead of a huge power dynamic that leads to control of the other via their age. i’ve seen this happen personally to some of my close friends and it’s a form of coercive control which can be awful to get out of… HOWEVER

if both parties are in it for the right reasons it can be beautiful !! the comfort and security in dating someone older and vice versa, aswell as getting to explore new things can be such an experience, and they can in fact work !! like any relationship if both parties are committed and have the same intentions then it can be beautiful <3 nothing is black & white so all experiences differ but i would say treat ANY relationship, like here with age gap ones, with caution but know , as i say from experience, they can bring comfort and safety 💖💖

You’re right, the power one can hold above the other can be suffocating leading to major mental decay and in some cases co-dependency which I find terrifying..
