✘ ⌖ ➶ The sensation of falling was oddly comforting, Natasha had noted. If you ignore the abrupt end, the act of being weightless while the air whipped around you could be soothing. The abrupt end didn't matter to her and didn't even register in her mind. All the redhead was focused on were the eyes of her best friend as she looked up at him. He'd be safe. He'd be alive. He'd be with his family. Once upon a time, Clint had saved Natasha from the KGB, and in so doing, gave her a new life. Her life. Returning that favor to make sure that he lives to see another day felt only right. There wasn't a single regret in her mind.
The next thing she knew, though, Natasha was laying on the cold, stone hard ground. Green eyes slowly opened, blinking into focus as she tried to piece together what happened. This wasn't the abrupt ending that she'd expected. In fact, this was no ending at all. Slowly sitting up, the Avenger took stock in the fact that she felt fine. Better than fine. Not a single bruise on her body. Looking up, the cliff that she'd fallen from reached so high into the heavens that she couldn't even see the top. Yet there she sat, not even a headache. Pulling herself to her feet, she called after Clint. Her voice echoed in the empty gorge, bringing no reply. She tried a few more times, then decided that she needed to get herself to higher ground. There was no telling how much time had passed since she fell. Was it instant? Was Clint still up there, able to help her back home? Or was she all alone on the forsaken planet of Vormir?
It wasn't an easy hike by any means, but after a couple of hours, Natasha was able to reach a plateau that looked over much of the landscape. No sign of her best friend. No sign of the Red Skull. No sign of anything. Lifting her left hand, she fired off a blast from her bites, shooting the red glowing light high into the sky. It worked as a flare, though she didn't have high hopes that anyone would be around to see it. When she fired a few more off, it was out of frustration and anger rather than tactical reasons. Sighing, Natasha leaned back against a rock and folded her arms over his chest. "Хуй."
