Gu Yun
Gu Yun. One of priest's favorite character. A general known for his good looks and genius mind. Right man of the Prince Yanbei. The man who adapted and raised him on his own. He is one of my favorite character too. He is funny, strong and lovely. He is really the expiation of "commender with an iron heart but the heart is burning inside". But this not the only reason why I love him. He is also the main character of the sha po lang. He had an awful childhood too. He was ill, his parents died young, he was the only alive person in his family. Left all alone. But with his personality while you are reading the book normally you got distract and forget. But his personalty is a close book too. He never fully expresses his real emotions. Most of the time he is angry and sad. But always smiling, laughing, trying to make people feel good. Like his soldiers. Seeing their general cry would make them sad and feel helpless too. But with Gu Yun in their side this is not an option because he never gets sad. At least infront of them.
While I was reading sha po lang I questioned myself like "do I know who is gu yun?" and I got the answer in the extra chapter. Gu Yun is still his mothers and fathers little boy. He was their joy. He was his father's story buddy. He was their hope that they didn't want to use. But they had no chance. They wouldn't raise him like that if they had a chance but they didn't had. He was his cousin's favorite. He always watched over him. In the extra chapters you see this special parts of him not only the most people but also the person closest to him learned in these moments. He is like a pandora box. Outside is full of glory but you don't have enough courage to open up and see. Because it can be the most beautiful treasure but also a disaster. But I love him. I love how silly and childish he is. I love how he is the bravest and strongest person in the book. I love how he turned out to be. Like the person his parent would be so proud of. The only person who has the real kings blood. The person that everyone afraid of. Chang Geng's love and yifu.
