Starting Somewhere

Well hello there! Happy 2019!

Here I go,writing, posting, blogging, if I can even call it that right now. Sitting on the bedroom floor, watching Blood Blues reruns for the 3rd time. It is an entertaining show that I find rather comforting with the familiarity of the beloved city of New York, with characters I like, all of which allows me to concentrate on other things. Such as this...lets call it just my expressive writings of 2019. 

I told my self this year I would try this out, again, and post more. I have been “trying” since 2014, I think its about time I actually do. Those years ago, I tried my expressive writing posts which became more so of a rant and banter of all that was emotionally wrong with my life and myself. It was heavy in content but nothing I was proud of. I suppose the the difference is that I have grown into a much more strong willed me that sharing with purpose is much more rewarding, 

The daunting part is starting, we all have an urge to share our stories, and we should by starting somewhere, anywhere really. Online platforms are good or a more private setting is journaling or even letters to your past selves. There is many options, just  have to try them out, or all of them, I now I am... but have fun with it.

Ill come back to this tomorrow, my butt/ass and back are hurting from sitting on this floor. Ouch... seriously WTF...

Getting Inspired

Inspiration can come from everything and lead you anywhere. Some people get inspired by others, watching movies, listening to a song, reading a book(good or bad, it doesn't matter), and even by themselves. How the inspiration presents itself to you depends on your personality. Exemple:

You watch a really good movie

Type 1: "Omg, I loved the story! This part of the movies made me think of an awesome way to start X story!"

Type 2: "Omg I loved the characters! The main vilain was so deep! I just got an idea for a character!"

Type 3: "Wow, I wish I was able to make a movie like that. I should probably go and work on my writing skills"

Type 4: "I wish my life was like that... I should probably start doing stuff"

It can also come from the thing you were watching/reading/listening to/etc. Maybe the book wasn't that awesome, but the story still got you, or maybe it was so awesome it motivated you to get back to writing. Don't be afraid to copy a little bit of others' ideas, as long as you later transform it into your own thing by changing the characters and events to make them your own, then it becomes your story. 

Being blessed with the ability to come up with something good on your own is not that common, especially when you're starting. Go from something you know before trying to create a new world. Everyone has to start somewhere after all, and the inspiration will eventually come to you once you are ready for it.

Day 658

Today I learned about the frustrations of not being a superuser.

I'm pretty sure McAfee is blocking SQL server from sending e-mail notifications.  Every time I try to send one, it fails, and McAfee updates a "Blocked Port Actions" counter.  ARGH.

VB script solutions are cludgey at best, and fall into the same problem otherwise.
