If I close my eyes, I could be almost anywhere... ✨ Maybe it’s the fact that we’re back in lockdown for the third time in less than eighteen months. Maybe it’s that I find myself living in North America’s COVID-19 hotspot 🙈 Maybe it’s simple boredom. Whatever it is, I was missing the more theatrical photo shoots we used to do, so I came up with a simple solution: starting them again. Life is art... 🎨 After years of reading books and visiting museums and reading more books and studying colour theory and wondering if I could really do it, it seems to surreal to be assembling my first collection of paintings for sale. I can’t help but wonder if the artists whose work I’ve so long admired felt the same sense of anticipation and anxiety as they prepared for the same. But it’s interesting, too, to know that there are things that they never had to consider. I’m almost as concerned about my image, my brand, as an artist as I am about my work because the world now demands it. And I always #startwiththeshoes when getting dressed.
