Tasty Tidbit- NanNoWriMo excerpt
The breeze that day was like mackinaw island in 2008. Everything was fresh and crisp and the air was biting, but the sun was thrilled and warming and the earth responded to it's gracious caress as they prepared to depart into a cold, bitter winter. You were callous and shadowed and so was I but you loved it more and I was tired of letting it consume me. Maybe you're just a muse but inevitably I decided it's not about choosing those you love. It just... becomes. and suddenly you can't remember the smell of your pillow without his head on it and your toes know where and where not to go. The window is still cracked and neither of you mind because the warmth of your churning bodies in a sea of sleep and endless blankets will throw loops of fire against the icy chill that slithers through the screens. Robbers in the night stole something already expired and I believe I might be convinced you aren't a liar. All I know is I'm here with someone else and we're sitting so still and silently. I can see you so clearly now as I imagine you it's almost as though you've appeared to me and I can't miss you as much as I could. There's a couple dancing under the pavilion in the three o clock sun and now they're kissing on the hill. Sunday has strung itself along all the way across the afternoon and I am baiting Monday to stay away. The cold is coming as I near the end the end the end again the day draws to a close as summer shuts it's doors and fall gives me a stuffy nose. December leaves me with wooly toes and too many clothes and on and on it goes. Copywright: C.e.M Written: 11.9.14 Published: 11.18.14
