#DecVinylWorship Day 14: A Great Soundtrack. I didn’t realize until today that I’m just not a soundtrack guy. Apparently I only own one soundtrack on vinyl, and it is this Star Wars OST from the 70s that a co-worker bought for me at an estate sale for under five dollars. It’s in immaculate condition and, of course, has some timeless music that reminds me of my childhood days. I’m glad to have it, even if I rarely spin it.
Tangent: Luke Skywalker was my childhood hero and watching him be humiliated and flippantly murdered by Rian Johnson in The Last Jedi was soul crushing. We should have borne witness to the greatest Jedi in history at the full height of his powers as he laid waste to the enemy. Instead we saw a curmudgeonly old hermit drink blue milk, fuss about a deserted island, and die for no good reason (like his mom). It makes no sense and I feel like I was targeted specifically with cruel and unusual punishment for Luke’s treatment in that film.
