MeltyLancer: Re-inforce (TENKY / Imagineer - PS1 - 1997)
Prologue
The sound of the beeping machinery echoed off the cold stone of the stasis room carved deep into the solid bedrock. The walls and floors of the cavern, once well maintained and lit, now covered in moss and mold and chips of what was once sealant and paint. Only the faint blue light of the scarce remaining machinery and the two stasis pods that hadn’t been crushed in a long past collapse now shed faint blue light to penetrate the darkness that permeated the room. The strong smell of decay and mold was all around the area as the machine that beeped in a slow melody powered the stasis pods that lay closest to the door. They were not covered in slime and decay or crushed. Their seals were intact, and their containers still held their light at the small window showing the red haired boy asleep in one, and the small infant maybe a few months old in the other.
Outside the half fallen door was the tunnel. Half caved in and full of fallen rocks and boulders that made navigation difficult, it seemed to go on forever. From far down the tunnel that lay outside a large crash was heard, jarring the machinery and causing the machines beeping to speed up in a different rhythm than before as there was movement from the larger of the small stasis pods. They were waking up, and slowly, the two started to open, filling the area with a bright blue light and a crying sound filled the room, echoing down the tunnel where there were distant sounds of machinery and human life.
