Real ID What?

So, apparently my state is messed up. I just realized I might not be able to fly in February, because my Driver’s licence will no longer be accepted as a valid form of ID for flying because my state decided compliance to federal law was for wussies. What’s worse is that they aren’t guaranteeing that you’ll be able to get the updated one in January, when you can no longer use your old licence anymore. Which leaves my only real option as a Passport. I don’t have a passport, guys. And to get one in four weeks will run me around $400 I don’t have. 

ARE YOU SERIOUS. 

I...just want to go see my family. It’s a rare opportunity. And a free one. So, why does this have to be so hard?
