Feeling Chill is the companion piece that goes with Sunbeam (the painting I posted yesterday afternoon, in my STAYCATION series – link in bio). Swipe sideways to take a peek at both, side by side... I’m playing with hot/cold themes as I work away in my studio up north, surrounded mountainous mounds of fluffy, white snow, while wishing I could be somewhere tropical! There is beauty in both kinds of landscape, but there is comfort and ease in a warm breeze! I’m okay though: only 32 days until spring! That’s just a we bit more than a month, and time has a habit of flying by. People, we’ve got this. Now it’s off to my studio, where I can travel in my mind, through my canvases! Cocooned: I think that many (most?) of us feel this way, still. Even with restrictions being lifted across much of the globe. We want to stay in our safe zones. Final orientation: horizontal. I’m calling this painting Sea Glass, because I received a message from someone about the piece. She described it using those words, and they resonated with me. She got it exactly right! It has the same kind of bright colors that have softened by years of being swept away by the sea... those glints of exciting colors still peek through. And I also like the idea of being at the beach... so even though I’m unable to go there now in person, I can go there on my canvas! #Painting allows me to daydream like that.
