Different standards?

So I’m talking to my friend and he mentions that he’s sometimes a little hard on himself in how he speaks about himself, just as I am about me. While I’m ready to jump in and agree with him that he needs to speak more positively about himself, it feels a whole lot different to accept that I should follow the same rules. I mean, I know myself, and I know just how much less than perfect I can be, so it doesn’t seem like we’re really comparing apples with apples. But I now realise that I should be gentler with me too, and be ready to forgive and start again.

Supersonic Steak from my spring fling last Saturday at #chezFrank. This was the rib bones from the double cowboy ribeye I grilled last week over an open fire.
