In the early 1980s, a buddy and myself drove between New York City and Indiana to deliver a car. We stopped in Wheeling, West Virginia, and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, to take pictures. Here are a few from the latter city mentioned. Bethlehem Steel dominated the town of course, existing for nearly one hundred and fifty years, until the first few of the 21st century. (A portion of the mill is visible in the first two images.)

I was pleased to find a couple of the locations (images one and two) on street view, with historical buildings extant. But for the third image—a complete remake, with nearly nothing in the view being the same some 37 years later. The mill is gone, of course.

ORIGINAL CONTENT: Aerial view of the Trumbull Cliffs blast fce., Republic Steel Warren Works. The furnace was 300’ +/- for scale. Didn’t fly the drone, but hired DP Visual Media to capture flyover footage of the doomed furnace the day the demo permit was approved.
