The Morris Jumel Mansion was a summer residence built by British Colonel Roger Morris and used by George Washington as a headquarters during 1776. The mansion would later be owned by Stephen Jumel and his wife Eliza Bowen. Eliza would marry Aaron Burr after Stephen Jumel passed away.
