Memory Lane
3773 words. AN : Was inspired to write this after today’s games. So I thought I’d send it over before I forgot.
Summary : Memory lane is but one road in a much bigger world, and when Jensen is feeling discouraged after losing a series, Sneaky must remind him just how important he is in making that world turn for him.
X
Well.
The weekend had been rough, to say the very least.
They were previously undefeated, but now, they had acquired 2 losses. Pretty hard ones as well.
And Sneaky was trying his best to look on the bright side of things. Find the silver lining. Losing was a necessary evil sometimes. It was important that teams continued to play like they were fighting for something, even if they were in first place. Perhaps they’d lost a little bit of that feeling. And it was time to take what they’d been handed.
The rest of the team was feeling pretty low about it too, but, they’d recover.
The one that was of his concern was the one smushed in between himself and Contractz, in the back seat of their car. He could feel it radiating off of him. The stress, the frustration, the discouragement.
He’d come to know Jensen like the back of his hand at this point. The loss to TSM, well, Jensen still seemed okay. And rightfully so, because the boy literally had been the one trying to carry the rest of them on his shoulders. He’d played his heart out. Even though yes, he had still felt that disappointment, he’d taken it much easier.
But today’s loss. Well.
That was just on a whole different level entirely.
And it’d been in his eyes, on his face, the minute the Nexus had exploded for the 2nd time. Jensen was looking like he used to. Looking so completely defeated and sad, and Sneaky almost couldn’t stand it.
Jensen hadn’t so much as uttered a single word to him, hadn’t even looked in his direction since the series had ended.
It was something that could make Sneaky come undone.
So, that’s why, the moment they arrived back home, Sneaky was immediately all over the mid laner. He knew exactly what was going to happen. Jensen was aiming to head straight for his room, lock himself inside, and not come out for who knew how long.
Sneaky wasn’t okay with that. He wasn’t okay with letting Jensen take all the blame for their loss, and even more so, he wasn’t okay with being shut out, and shut away from his favorite person for however long.
The rest of the team retreated to their separate rooms as usual, but, thank goodness, Jensen’s room was right next to Sneaky’s. And he was not going to get away from him.
“Fuck off.” Jensen immediately snapped, feeling Sneaky’s presence behind him.
The ADC was on his heels, that much was true.
“Jensen, don’t do this.” Sneaky spoke, following along behind him closely. If it were anymore close actually, he’d probably trample him. “Jensen…” he now said in a warning tone as the mid laner rounded the corner to his room.
As predicted, the mid laner turned swiftly, and flung his door to close, but Sneaky was there to catch it, and wedged a foot in just because Jensen had actually won this back and forth before. The boy had some strength when he was feeling this overwhelmed and adrenaline filled. Surprising, for someone with barely more meat on his bones than actual Fiddlesticks.
“Sneaky, go the fuck away.” Jensen spat with annoyance, as he then placed both hands on the back of his door and attempted to force it shut.
“Nope.” Sneaky replied simply, now putting his shoulder into it as well. “I’m not letting this happen this time you little shit.” he grunted, edging himself in to the point he was halfway through the crack of the doorway.
Jensen exhaled heatedly, as he flung his hands in the air and turned away from Sneaky once again.
Sneaky, having managed to win the first battle, the “door battle” as he’d come to call it, stood up straight now, as there was no longer resistance from Jensen’s end.
Now would have to come the “battle of attention”. Jensen hated, absolutely hated talking, dealing with it. He was the type to just internalize it, and deal with it his own way.
And Sneaky wasn’t about emotions period. But he was about Jensen’s emotions. Those actually mattered to him.
And he vowed the last time this happened, he was going to do everything he could to stop it the next time.
It wasn’t fair, or right, for Jensen to sit in his room and punish himself like this.
Sneaky blinked towards the Dane as he threw himself into a sitting position on the edge of his bed. He immediately pulled out his phone and earbuds.
As he prepared to put them in, however, Sneaky once more, was far too fast.
He reached out and snatched them too fast for Jensen to really even realize what was happening. Jensen glared towards him, now with “ultra tilt” eyes.
“Honestly, fuck you Sneaky.” Jensen remarked. His tone still held a lot of venom.
But it didn’t phase Sneaky, because he knew Jensen better than maybe he knew himself. And his words right now were coming from a place of very frustrated emotion and aggression. This is the part, that Sneaky didn’t get to witness very often. Usually, Jensen would have already shut him out.
Jensen flung himself upward again, “Why are you even in here?” he asked, in a tone that was neither nice, nor polite, “Get the fuck out and leave me alone okay?”
Sneaky slipped Jensen’s earbuds into his back pocket when the mid laner reached for them once more. “No, I won’t leave you alone.” he now switched his tone to the defensive so that he could at least rival the aggression enough to stand a chance here.
And inside, he was so mentally sad, so crushed, to be standing here, having to battle this out with the mid laner. He hated seeing Jensen this way so much.
Sneaky held up a hand to continue before Jensen could further his argument, “How fucking low of you to do this to us.” he added, brushing his hair to the side before folding his arms. His eyes narrowed slightly, “To do this to me.” he then pulled one arm towards his chest, before refolding it in his other, “What the fuck dude?”
“To you??” Jensen then questioned, his eyebrows raising into arcs as his eyes widened to stare towards Sneaky incredulously, before letting out a couple sarcastic huffs, “Sneaky aren’t you forgetting you have fucking Meteos’ side to cuddle up to?” Jensen spat, and immediately Sneaky’s face dropped all of the strength it’d had in it, as Jensen flung an arm out to the side, “In fact, if it will get you the fuck out of my room, I approve. Go.”
The mid laner exhaled, as if he was exaughsted now after that last sentence, and he collapsed once more into a sitting position on the side of his bed.
The sting. It had been delivered. And it was hurting.
It took Sneaky several moments actually, to recollect his thoughts as Jensen sat there on his phone. A body full of emotion mashing away on his keypad, swiping aggressively between sites and twitter feeds.
By the time Sneaky was managing to come around to say something once more, Jensen was back on the aggressive. “Well? Why are you still here?”
Sneaky tilted his head slightly, “Jensen, what the fuck?” he started, managing to force it out even though he still felt so winded over what Jensen had previously said to him.
This was like, a whole new experience for Sneaky. He and Jensen never fought like this, never argued like this. What was actually happening? How did he handle it? How was he supposed to respond?
Well, he didn’t know, but he had to try.
“Jensen.” he started, with a sigh following, “I just got done having to force my way through an interview with Meteos, that I didn’t even really want to be a part of.” he snapped, “Why the fuck would you say something like that to me?”
Sneaky then let his arms drop to his side again, watching, as Jensen just sat and stewed in silence as his attention had been averted back to his phone. Sneaky rolled his eyes and threw his arms up, “Alright, what? What do you want me to say?”
“I don’t want you to say anything. I want you to leave me alone.” Jensen scoffed, but his tone had lost a lot of it’s threat that’d it’d previously had. “I am tired Sneaky, and this has been an awful day for me personally.” he continued, finally now looking up at him, “And I don’t want to see you right now, I just need to think about what happened today. I need some time to myself to figure things out.”
“I mean, but it was the whole team’s loss, not just you Jensen.” Sneaky argued, also lowering his tone to something with less defensive aggression now to match his. “We’re all feeling bad about it, you just take it to so much more an intense level. I don’t want you to feel that way by yourself. It’s stupid.”
Jensen huffed a slight bit of laughter once more. “Yeah well, unfortunately I have more to worry about than just the team’s loss Sneaky, okay?” he now finally fell back onto his bed, and gazed at the ceiling before sighing once more. “So if you want to comfort someone, go bother one of the others.”
Sneaky, for a split second, was completely confused by this. But then it hit him like a ton of bricks.
Just like it had hit Sneaky himself like a ton of bricks earlier.
Meteos.
The nostalgia. The trip down memory lane. The fan service.
The revert back to years before Jensen had come along.
Sneaky’s eyes fell on the mid laner for a moment. How could he have not thought of that?
Jensen wasn’t exactly upfront about things like that. It was no mystery anymore to anyone that Meteos and Jensen didn’t like one another. It was partially the reason Meteos had stepped down from the team the first time. It was a bigger part of the reason the 2nd time.
Now Meteos had joined another team. For the first time ever, he was competing with someone other than Cloud 9. And today had been their face off.
And oh, how the fans had screamed, and carried on, and soaked in it. Their minds forgetting all about how far Sneaky had come, how much he had grown as a person without Meteos, because all of their fantasies of what had never become of “Sneakeos” in the past, had a heart beat for a day again.
Even the LCS casters had fallen victim to this face off between the old duo. Feeding into the fan’s desires, and Meteos had never shied away from doing it either. Not in the past, and he hadn’t tonight. Reverting back to the “old” was just too easy for him, and it was so easy for long time fans to get caught up in it.
Sneaky had given Meteos his picture to tweet to the world.
But after the game, he’d been corraled into an interview as well, and, well, the fan service continued.
And Sneaky had noticed immediately during the interview that no one had really cared about how he had felt about the whole issue. It had been miserable. He’d felt so awkward, he hadn’t even wanted to make eye contact with anyone during it. Screams would fill the air when Phreak and Meteos made their comments, and all he was left doing was standing there, laughing uncomfortably, looking like a dumbass.
Just like the old days.
But, also, just like the old days, he just let it happen. Even if he was uncomfortable. Even if he really didn’t want to do it. Even if he didn’t agree with what was being said.
He had introverted inward, like the old Sneaky always used to. Shy, embarrassed, and just going with the flow.
He was always going to be Meteos’ friend. Forever. It was just the way things were.
But he was a different person now. He was a different Sneaky.
And instead of showing that tonight, he’d allowed himself to be pulled right back to what he used to be.
Perhaps it was because he was put on the spot. Perhaps it was because Meteos and Phreak were standing right there. Perhaps it was the screams of the fans. Fans that he loved truly, and dearly, that he crumbled under it all.
But it was no excuse.
Especially when he knew he was capable of showing off that newer Sneaky to the world, like he had been doing.
Now, still feeling the pain of Jensen’s words, but now also knowing the misery the mid laner must have been feeling, he sighed once more, “Jensen I’m sorry.”
Jensen said nothing. He only simply turned on his side, to face the wall away from Sneaky.
“I really am.” Sneaky continued, now walking over and sitting down on the edge of Jensen’s bed. He contemplated putting a hand on his shoulder, but decided against it. He was going to have to take this slowly. “Please believe me.”
Jensen lay still, unmoving, and quiet. It made Sneaky so antsy. Antsy enough that he did reach up this time and put his hand on him.
“Jensen you have to believe me.” Sneaky prodded, lightly touching his shoulder, hoping for any reaction at all out of him, “You know how I feel about you.”
Finally, a deep exhale came out of the Dane. “I know.”
He reached up and pushed Sneaky’s hand off his shoulder without looking, keeping his face turned away, “But that doesn’t mean it didn’t bother me.” he told, before adding, “I wish it didn’t, but I don’t really know how to make it stop.”
Sneaky gazed down at the top of his comforter for a second. “It bothers me too.” he frowned slightly, huffing a bit as he did so, “It bothers me that I still fall back into that old mood. That I’m still not strong enough to just defy it. That I still just let myself get sucked in.”
The ADC began tracing lines down the top of the blanket. “I worry about the fans, you know. And how it would affect them if I killed that for them…” he inhaled, before he halted his line drawing and turned towards Jensen’s curled up form once more, “But it matters to me more that it upset you, and I just want you to know that I will get there.”
Sneaky then leaned down on Jensen gently, draping his arm around him as he rested his chin on his shoulder, “You’re what I want Jensen. You’re the one I want.” he murmured, “One night of memory lane with Meteos didn’t change that. And it never would, or will. Everything that we’ve done together, and what we have between us means so much more to me.”
Jensen this time, didn’t shake Sneaky off of him. Instead, he allowed the AD carry to stay there, draped over him. It felt calming.
“He knows that too. He didn’t forget.” Sneaky added, just for the additional reassurance, before smiling slightly, “And one day I look forward to standing on stage with you and answering questions about us.”
Jensen huffed slightly, “If that day ever comes.”
“It will.” Sneaky replied, now picking his head up slightly and peeking over the top of Jensen to see if there was any relief in his eyes yet. He’d thought he’d picked up on it in his voice, so he wanted to check visually.
There was. In fact, there wasn’t only relief in the mid laner’s eyes, but he was now smiling a tiny bit as well. He laughed very faintly, as he now turned his head to glance at Sneaky, “Do you think you’ll actually be able to talk though?” he now had a teasing tone, “Because I’ve seen you try to talk about me in all seriousness before, and it did not work out so well.”
“Wha-” Sneaky began defensively, before cutting himself off. “What are you talking about?”
Jensen now moved, pushing himself into a sitting position and gazing at Sneaky with a bright smile, “You think I didn’t get a text from Bjergsen after that stream you did with him?”
Upon Sneaky’s look of confusion, Jensen pulled his phone out, “I still have the text saved.” he told as he began scrolling through his messages. After finding what he was looking for, he faced it towards his still confused looking damage carry.
Sneaky snatched the phone away and glared towards it. It was opened on a text from Bjergsen. He’d received it the day he’d done the stream Q&A with him.
Uh, so…I don’t what you’ve done to make Sneaky this crazy about you, but, holy fuck dude.
Attached to the message was a video of Sneaky breaking into a giggling fit after referring to Jensen as a “handsome man”.
“That actual asshole…” Sneaky murmured to himself, turning to gaze sideways as he wore a glare on his face. Just he wait. There would be revenge to be had. He turned to Jensen once more, “Alright, I can explain. See, what happened was - “
“Or what about that time someone in your chat asked if we were in a relationship?” Jensen continued laughing, cutting Sneaky off, “And also when you found out about what I said about my feelings?”
Sneaky sighed, glaring towards Jensen slightly, “Are you done?”
“I mean, I could also bring up that time that - “
“Anyways.” Sneaky took his turn to stop Jensen while he could. Else he may never get the chance. He made a mental note of all the revenge that needed to be taken on various people, including his entire twitch chat, before turning to Jensen again. “The point I was trying to make is, if you take anything away from tonight, Jensen. Anything at all…” he paused again, making sure he still had Jensen’s full attention, “It’s that I never want to go back to that place again. I’m right where I want to be now. With no one else but you.” he then smirked playfully, “You’re stuck with me you little shit.”
Jensen gazed towards his bed spread for a second, rocking slightly back and forth as he smiled a bit, “Alright, you’ve convinced me…” he then trailed off slightly before frowning, “But you can leave now because I still have the game to be upset over.” he then rubbed his hands on his knees as he shook his head slightly, “If I’d have just waited to flank when - “
“What the fuck did I just say to you good sir?” Sneaky snapped loudly, and playfully, cutting Jensen off once more.
Jensen’s jaw dropped slightly, before narrowing his eyes towards his annoyingly persistent AD Carry, “I’m dropping the Meteos thing okay? But you gotta go before I get more tilted, because tonight’s games - “
“Shut the fuck up Yensen.” Sneaky interrupted, holding up a hand, “I don’t want to hear any of your bullshit. Stop trying to get me to leave.”
Jensen fell quiet once more, huffing and puffing, before folding his arms across his chest.
This caused Sneaky to laugh slightly, as he raised an eyebrow, “You know though…” he began, capturing his mid laner’s attention, “My Ryze is cleaner.”
“Fuck you Sneaky.” Jensen spat, “If your Ryze is so clean I expect him to be locked in at AD Carry next game, and we’ll see how many times your ass gets killed to fucking 4 man roams from the rest of the map.”
Jensen’s rambling only caused Sneaky to laugh more. It was never not entertaining when Jensen went off on a rant, or threw a fit about something. He held his hands up, “Fuck me I guess for being honest with you about my Ryze.”
“You know what? No. Go get on your fucking computer. It’s time for a 1v1.” Jensen demanded, as he began to shift off the side of the bed.
Sneaky blinked, his laughter dying down slightly, though it still came out in wisps as he spoke, “Wait, you want to 1v1 me right now?”
“I mean I said it, so.” Jensen replied, trodding over to his chair and sitting down in it.
“Alright fine…” Sneaky complied, as he also stood from the bed, “But I don’t want to hear any bullshit about me kicking you while you’re down when I destroy your dumbass.”
Jensen’s client popped up on his screen, and as he began to type in his user name and password, he huffed out a laugh, “Yeah I’m sure. Keep shit talking me all you want Sneaky, but just prepare to be bodied.”
Sneaky smirked, leaving Jensen’s room and heading around the corner into his own. After sitting down at his computer and listening to it whir to life from sleep mode, he couldn’t help but smile to himself.
He thought he’d done an ok job. Jensen was definitely not looking as doom and gloom as he had been, though he was sure the mid laner was still going to think about it some.
The point was, he wasn’t thinking about it right now. His mind was sure to be on exposing Sneaky’s Ryze play, 100%. That counted for something.
At the very least, it was going to be hilarious.
As his client popped open, he immediately had an invite waiting, and when the two of them loaded onto the rift, Sneaky reached out and knocked on the wall a couple times.
What the fuck? Why? For luck. Oh. Yeah you’re gonna need it. Are you ready to be bodied Sneaky? I’m always ready to be bodied by you, you aesthetic fuck. I know. I would want to be bodied by me too.
Sneaky let out some laughter.
This.
This is what his happiness was.
Trips down memory lane, sure, could be fun. But at the end of the day, the nostalgia would fade. And what mattered then, was who was at your side at that moment.
The one who’d changed your world, turned it completely upside down, and made you the stronger you.
The one who showed you just how vulnerable he could be, how scared he could be, all because every piece of his heart was invested in you, in the same way you had invested yours.
There was never going to be any need for the mid laner to worry.
Because memory lane was just one road out of Sneaky’s entire world. A world that spun, all because Jensen was in his life.
Just Jensen Things (1/?)
3536 words. AN : So this is the first part of what I’m hoping will be a nice (decently) lengthy fanfic that I had the idea for. I really have never liked writing stuff in ‘parts’, but I think right now, because I do want to keep writing so badly but am still so crunched constantly for free time to do it, maybe doing it this way will be better manageable for me. I’m not sure how many parts it will be yet, but I’m hoping to get maybe 4-5 out of it. Of course, that could change, but right now, it’s what I’ve got in mind. Enjoy (hopefully)!

“A seed once sown can never die.” - Gertrude Jekyll
X
He’d come to rely on him so much at this point.
He hadn’t seen it coming, and he couldn’t recall how it’d happened.
It was like one day he woke up, and it was just there.
That wasn’t to undermine all of the things they’d done together, and still did do together. All of the late night duos they’d had, followed by late night talks. Late night trips to IHop and Starbucks. All of the fun and shenanigans they would always get up to during Korean bootcamps, and trips overseas or out of state.
In the time that he’d been with them, they’d become the very best of friends.
Close, and even closer.
More than just close, if he was being honest about it. About where things were now.
Everything they did, they did together. And when they weren’t together, they did things with each other in mind. The world knew it, their team knew it.
But beyond that, Jensen and Sneaky knew it even more.
The inseperable bond that had grown between them, starting out as only just a seed in the beginning. It had grown into this large beautiful garden, where the vines intertwined themselves in each other. Flowers bloomed every morning, and the sun always came up.
It wasn’t always like that, however. Before that garden had turned into the beautiful, uncomparable and blissful space that it was, there was a time it was barren and cold.
In the beginning, Jensen had had trouble slipping into a space where he felt comfortable. As it was understandable, Sneaky knew too well, when you were the newest one on the team. The rest of them had been together for while, and they had grown comfortable in one another’s company.
Jensen was a highly anticipated catch, fresh off suspension.
And well. The synergy, just wasn’t there yet.
Everyone had been pretty open minded, pretty ready to accept the Dane and whatever magic it was that he was going to bring to the team. But one of them, never found the click.
Their personalities just never were going to mesh. No matter how they tried, and no matter how the others tried to help. It just wouldn’t happen.
Sneaky had liked Jensen from the beginning, but he, at the time the Dane came along, had been closer to the one that would be destined to never get along with him. At the time, yes, it was Meteos in whom he shared the connection with.
It’d be hard to say exactly the kind of connection it was. It was just comfort and familiars. They knew each other well. Had synergized for quite some time, and found a lot of humor and fun in one another. During the times when they themselves had struggled to fit in, they’d found each other, and created out of that, some form of comfort, that they didn’t think would ever go away, or break, or die. But still, while they were close, there was always something that had been missing. They never were the fit that people had thought they were. They lacked in something, that they never could figure out, never bothered talking about, and never cared to fix. Chemistry? Maybe. They had plenty of it in some aspects, while the well ran dry in others. Perhaps it was simply depth. While you couldn’t tell from the streams, the way they carried on with one another, there wasn’t a whole lot more to be offered underneath all of that. Despite that fact, however, they still had a good friendship between them.
Jensen was often discouraged in the beginning. He’d wanted to come in and be a part of the powerful team he’d always heard talked about on the LCS news. But when his performance wasn’t up to par, and he couldn’t connect with the team in game, he was the type that would close himself off, and take on all the blame himself. No matter who made what mistake, at what time, he was always going to feel as if it were his fault.
Sneaky knew it was a problem. If Jensen was going to make it with Cloud 9, he was going to have to change that mentality. Because mistakes would happen. Bad games would happen. Sneaky had always been a home body. He loved to stay at home within the walls of his own room and play games, stream, watch Netflix. But when Jensen would fall into these moods of self despair, he found that he couldn’t help but try to initiate something. He did like Jensen. He wanted Jensen to feel okay. He could see in the midlaner’s eyes, however, that he was not.
“Jensen?” Sneaky would call, softly tapping on the midlaner’s door.
Things were quiet on the other side for a second, but then he heard the soft padding of socks on the floor, growing closer to the door. It would open.
There Jensen would be, looking pale, weak, fragile, and sad as hell. Sneaky would frown, wishing that things weren’t the way they were, and wondering if he’d ever understand why.
The AD Carry would clear his throat, “We’re going out for chipotle, do you want to come?”
Jensen would look very slightly interested for a second, “Who is going?”
Sneaky would feel a sinking in his stomach. He knew who it was Jensen wanted to avoid, but he so badly hoped that he would just come anyway. It couldn’t be healthy to stay in his room like this. Because while Sneaky was guilty of doing the same thing, he was finding fun within his room with his hobbies. Jensen was just sitting in his room, staring at the walls, punishing himself in some kind of self inflicted purgatory that he didn’t deserve.
Sneaky wouldn’t have to say anything. His silence was enough.
“I think I’ll pass.” Jensen would say, then offering a very slight smile as he prepared to retreat once more, “I have a lot on my mind.”
Sneaky wasn’t the type to deal with feelings well, but, he did want Jensen to feel better, and they were becoming friends, slowly but surely, “Well, is there anything I can do?”
Jensen would then smile wider, as if he was offering this as some kind of reassurance he expected Sneaky to buy. As if to pass it off that he was okay, when he clearly was not. “It’s nothing.” he would say, “It’s just Jensen things.”
A week or so would go by, and things would seemingly be all good, or, rather, what Sneaky passed off as “good”. Jensen was growing closer with the rest of the team, and that part was a very positive thing that was peeking out, breaking through the thick tension that would sometimes be there.
Because some days seemed so bad, it was like there was a thick smog flowing through the house. There were even times Jensen would go out, and just not come back until the next day. He’d show up in the earliest of morning hours, hungover or still drunk, but still wearing that same sad face.
Sneaky never wanted to bother asking what it was exactly that Jensen and Meteos couldn’t work through, but the truth is, he didn’t think they knew either. They just simply didn’t see eye to eye. On anything.
And so, even though Sneaky wanted desperately to further his bond with Jensen, he just felt stuck. Stuck in the middle of a cobra and a mongoose. He just wished there was something, anything, that could make things feel better.
But their summer split was going so shaky, it wasn’t long before Jack stepped in, and intervened himself. He’d caught on finally. Realized that there were some issues not only in game, but out of game as well between the mid laner and the jungler.
And that just wasn’t going to fly anymore.
And it did come as a shock to some of them. Well, maybe not necessarily a shock, but the decision was up in the air for a couple weeks before finally the choice was made.
And the jungler was the one, that was going to have to go.
The decision hadn’t just been made based on the issues between Jensen and Meteos alone, but you would think the mid laner felt every ounce of guilt for what happened. Meteos had spent time talking to Jack, and something he had said at some point, tipped the owner off that he needed a break anyway.
News to even Sneaky, that Meteos had some inner issues going on. Even though he was supposed to be the closest one to him, it caught him off guard when the announcement was made. And so, he thought, it was a testament not only to himself and Meteos, but also the rest of the world, that their bond was not even deep enough that they shared those kinds of secrets.
So, for issues related to Jensen, and issues unrelated to him, Meteos left the team.
And even though it wasn’t his fault, Jensen still felt the ridiculous need to apologize to Sneaky every time they so much as shared a conversation.
“I know he was your best friend.” Jensen would say, with a tone of shame, as he gazed towards the ground slightly, “I’m sorry about the way things ended up.”
Sneaky blinked towards him, wondering how this time he was going to try and make the Dane feel okay about what happened. Make him understand that he did not have himself to blame.
“I told Jack that I would just move to the subs, and - “
“Jensen…” Sneaky cut him off with a sigh. But not an annoyed one. A slightly playful one. He smiled towards him, “I’m done listening to you say you’re “sorry” you little shit.”
Jensen fell quiet. It wasn’t like he never retorted when Sneaky wanted to give him shit. In fact, their relationship was still improving day by day, little by little, despite all that had taken place so far. Jensen just wasn’t feeling it. He didn’t understand how Sneaky could be either.
“Whatever reason why things ended up like this doesn’t matter. We aren’t the ones that need to be worried about the decision making.” Sneaky told, noting that Jensen wasn’t exactly in the banter mood. Again though, Sneaky wasn’t the best at talking “feelings” either. This was out of his comfort zone, but he knew he needed to make this effort.
And he really actually wanted to.
And he knew what Jensen needed to hear to make him feel okay about all of this. It was something that Sneaky hadn’t known if he felt okay saying before. But it was time to move on. He could say it now.
“I’m not dying on the inside because Meteos is gone, you know.” Sneaky then started, as he paused for a second when Jensen looked back up at him. Yes, this is what Jensen needed to hear, “It may feel a little bit strange some days, and he’s always going to be my friend, but this is my team. You’re my teammate, and the fact that you haven’t felt the most welcome really does bother me. I never wanted that, and I never liked what was going on. You’re one of us, you’re just as important as anyone.”
He could see it in Jensen’s eyes. The relief was flooding into his brown pools as he kept his gaze fixated on Sneaky, as if to test the sincerity of his statement.
It was as suspected, that all Jensen really needed to know, to feel, was that Sneaky didn’t hate him or blame him for the loss of Meteos on the team. That he was important too. That he meant something to someone, anyone else on the team.
“I can’t wait to see what you’re gonna become.” Sneaky finished off, with reassurance as he nodded towards Jensen.
Jensen blinked, as if he was taken aback by the amount of sincerity from his fellow teammate.
“And no more apologizing.” Sneaky snapped almost instantly, like he was in a rush to put it out there, “I still don’t understand why you do that.”
“Oh…” Jensen shrugged slightly, now showing a bit of a smile now as well, “I think it’s just a Jensen thing.”
“To feel guilty for the world’s dirty sins is a Jensen thing?” Sneaky teased a bit, “Is that so?”
Jensen laughed towards him a bit, before holding up his hands, “But that is only for me okay, that doesn’t mean everyone gets to make me feel bad for everything.”
“Mhm.” Sneaky replied a bit playfully, trying to keep the mood light now, as a thought crossed through his head, “Hey I’m streaming tonight. You should duo with me.”
Sneaky was happy when Jensen accepted his offer. What Sneaky didn’t know was how quickly his friendship with him was about to take off.
And over the next several months, they experienced a whirlwind of great things. Friends, who bonded so fast, they made the word synergy look like their bitch.
While Cloud 9 still seemed shaky at times, Jensen, and his relationship with the rest of the team, was not. He’d fallen into place, like a piece of a puzzle they’d been missing for so long, they hadn’t realized they’d so desperately needed it.
And Sneaky was changing as well. Changing in a good way. His moods had become consistent, he had opened up to Jensen a great deal, and he found it shocking at times, even though it was due to the fact that they were entrusting each other with more and more, just how well Jensen was coming to know him. And really know him. Things he would forget he’d even told the Dane about himself, were never forgotten by Jensen himself. And it always took him a bit by surprise when he could finish a sentence for him, or predict a decision he’d make based solely off of the fact that he’d had come to know his personality so very well.
It was relieving in so many ways.
Having someone there with him, that understood him to the extent Jensen did.
And Sneaky, without really realizing it, had done the exact same in return.
He’d come to know all about Jensen’s habits, his emotions and what they meant. He could read the look on his face and understand his mood. Not to mention the kid had turned into quite the memer. He supposed he had only himself to blame for that one, but, the fact they could even carry on a complete conversation composed entirely of memes?
Well, that just made everything even better.
It was like someone had suddenly lit a fire behind them, underneath them. They were blasting full speed into this place of comfort and familiarity.
The once barren, brown, land, and the simple seed that had been lying dormant beneath it had sprouted. The rainy days were gone, and things were getting greener with each passing day.
And they were enjoying every single moment.
Spring split was fast approaching, and they were going to be getting some roster changes for the team. Though Jensen had just come back from spending some time at home, he had so missed hanging out with Sneaky, and had looked forward to the day he was going back to the Cloud 9 house just so he could be in his company again. He’d finally found someone that meshed with him well. Not that he’d not had friends before, or had other ones, but, this was different. Something about it was different. It felt like a genuine connection.
“Welcome home you little shit.” Sneaky greeted, standing in the doorway, before moving to the side to let the returned midlaner in.
Jensen’s jaw dropped slightly, “Wow, I missed you too.” he replied, with that playful, slightly taken aback tone Sneaky had missed greatly.
It was one of the things Sneaky had grown to love over the course of the ever growing friendship he had with him. He loved to tease Jensen. He loved the reactions, he loved the banter. It was just…fun.
He laughed slightly towards him. It’d been too long since he’d been able to call Jensen that. He blinked towards him, as he was however, still just standing outside, “Come inside you fuck boy, why are you just standing there?”
“I mean…” Jensen began slowly, but his tone held playful undertones as well, “I don’t know if I really want to be in the same house as someone as toxic as you Sneaky.” he stated, “I’ve been gone for 2 months and the first thing you say to me is -”
Jensen was immediately halted in his rant, as Sneaky reached forward and grabbed him, pulling him inside, “Come on you dumbass, I have something to show you.”
Jensen allowed himself to be pulled along into the house and towards the hallway, “Well can I at least put my bags down in my room first?”
“Sure bud.” Sneaky replied, however, still not stopping as he pulled Jensen into the hallway. He stopped outside of one of the doorways in the hall. It was just passed the downstairs bathroom, and around the corner from the kitchen.
Sneaky let go of Jensen’s arm, as the Dane shot him a confused look. “Well then why…” he trailed off, noting that Sneaky had started bobbing slightly, as if he were excited for some reason.
Sneaky pointed towards the closed door, “Go ahead.”
Jensen blinked towards him, “Wait, what? This isn’t my room.”
“It is now. We decided to move you to this one, and put the new jungler upstairs.” Sneaky stated, watching as Jensen’s eyes shifted to the next door over. His smile deepened, and he suddenly felt excited over such a simple, ridiculous thing such as this, “You’re next door to me now.”
Jensen was immediately able to put on a frown, though his facial expression did not curb the subtle hint of amusement in his voice, “I-what? No, FF. Who made this decision without me? I can’t believe you would do me like this Sneaky. I’m actually tilted. It’s over.”
Sneaky glared towards him, but his face still held a smirk as he slung Jensen’s bedroom door open, “Shut the fuck up Jensen and put your stuff away.” he then gave Jensen a slight shove, a chuckle escaped him shortly after.
Jensen stumbled into his new space in the house. The one that would be next door to Sneaky. He took a moment, to just stare at the walls, his eyes roaming, before finally settling on the wall that would be between him and the one he’d grown highly fond of since the end of the dreadful summer split. The one in which, he’d felt so alone, and so lost during.
How many times he’d felt like leaving, and giving up. A frown came over his face as he settled his thoughts on those feelings. It’d been months now since he’d felt that way. Those feelings were long gone, but the memory of how bad they felt still lingered.
“Jensen?” Sneaky’s voice lingered closely to him, drowning out his thoughts, catching him before he drifted away. A hand on his shoulder caused him to turn his head again. “Dude, what the hell’s wrong? You lost all the color in your face.”
Jensen studied Sneaky’s expression for a second. He held his gaze there long enough for Sneaky to completely change his demeanor as well. The ADC reached up and slapped a hand to his forehead. “Are you feeling okay?”
Jensen glared towards him slightly, playfully, as he swatted his hand away. “What the fuck Sneaky? Can’t I stand in my room without having to worry about you walking in and hitting me in the head?”
Sneaky immediately looked playful again, as he held up two hands, “Yeah fuck me I guess for worrying about your dumbass.”
“Worry?” Jensen questioned, before turning his head to gaze around the room again for a second. He stepped over and sat on the edge of the bed, bobbing slightly. He now held a small smile on his face as well before gazing towards Sneaky again, “You don’t need to worry. I was just thinking for a moment.”
“About what?”
“Just Jensen things, you know?”
Sneaky’s smile widened. It’d been a little while since he’d gotten to hear that. Just Jensen things…
Yes, he’d grown very fond of Jensen things, even though he wasn’t even truly sure of what they consisted of, or what they meant.
And perhaps one day he would know.
But right now, whatever that meant didn’t matter. Because more than anything else, Sneaky was feeling something else with Jensen’s return. That feeling of once again being complete. Once again having someone with you, beside you, that you enjoyed the company of so much, you hadn’t really realized you’d miss it so greatly until it had gone away for months for the holiday.
He was just happy.
And he couldn’t wait for things to fall back into place again. Resume the routine that’d been paused in the absence of Jensen.
The garden would continue to flourish and grow.
Despite the dark clouds looming in the far distance.
Happy

I hope you guys like it, sorry I can’t submit much lately! I’ll try to send something in again before too long.

Maybe it was because at this point, he knew the guy pretty well. Perhaps it was also because he knew the joy the AD Carry found daily.
As things were now, they were the best he’d ever seen him. And sure, he wasn’t as close to him as another one of them in specific.
But he was close enough to know, that the emotion he wore on his face for the picture he’d taken wasn’t just for show. It hadn’t been just a posed shot. It wasn’t faked emotion.
He’d seen the past photos, from the previous splits.
And he just hadn’t looked the same. But it was all over his gleaming face now.
The ADC, was happy.
“Hello?“ Sneaky questioned the support, who’d seemingly drifted off into thought.
Smoothie blinked upon hearing the voice of the one standing next to him. He turned his head to face him slightly, being met with eyes of slight confusion, with a mix of amusement. “Wait, what?”
“Are you okay good sir?” Sneaky asked him, raising his eyebrow slightly.
“Fine.” Smoothie replied, pointing towards Sneaky’s newest picture he’d taken for the LCS roster. Of course, Sneaky had been gazing at a different one. He reached up and placed a hand on Sneaky’s shoulder, patting it a couple times before smiling and folding his arms, “I was just noticing the difference in your picture.”
“Difference? What difference?” Sneaky now posed the question, an innocent and clueless tone now emanating from him.
Smoothie’s smile only deepened. It was always like this with him. Anytime anyone noticed these things in Sneaky, he acted as if he had no idea what they were talking about.
But he knew.
And over the last several months it was getting harder for him to avoid being called out on things like this. His emotions were showing through, and he was barely capable of masking them anymore. He would be brimming full of happiness, but the idiot was still so shy when it came to his favorite person.
“You know…” Smoothie continued, as he watched Sneaky put the photo he’d been holding down on the table with the rest of them. Of course, as the support had suspected. The photo that Sneaky had been gazing at was of the person he felt was the reason why the ADC smiled so brightly anymore. Smoothie turned slightly and sat himself on the edge of the table, facing Sneaky directly, whose eyes immediately shifted upon contact. “The big bright ass, all too obvious happy smile that you’re wearing on your face.”
Sneaky frowned towards him, “No idea what you’re talking about.” he murmured, but with a slightly playful tone.
Sneaky knew the others knew. But, he was never going to give them the satisfaction of getting his full on admittance due to the fact that they were assholes who loved to tease him over it.
“Could you elaborate?” Sneaky then continued, attempting once more to play the clueless card.
He then watched his support lean off the table, and reach out and grasp him by the shoulders. He then pulled him forward, pointing him towards the photos laying about. But he was directed to look at his own.
Sneaky wore a bit of a sheepish smile as Smoothie leaned over his shoulder. “Could this smile have anything to do…” Smoothie began, pulling another photo over and laying it right beside his.
Sneaky’s eyes landed on the photo, and his smile couldn’t be masked any longer. He turned his head away. He didn’t want to give Smoothie anymore fuel than he already had.
“With this?” Smoothie then finished his question.
The two photos lay side by side, and Sneaky felt his heart skip slightly, before he cleared his throat, and attempted to toughen himself up. He spun around and faced Smoothie, who had released his shoulders and now stared at him with an all-knowing gaze.
Sneaky held his hands up, “I don’t know what you’re talking about…” he then reached behind him and grabbed the picture, “I don’t know why you’d think this…” he gazed at it once more, before gazing at Smoothie again, “Would have something to do with the way I’m smiling.”
Smoothie laughed slightly, as there was the sound of an opening door from the side of the room.
“Yo, Sneaky!” came an all too familiar voice.
Sneaky’s face immediately lit up, as he turned to let his eyes fall on his fellow teammate.
“What the fuck bro? I thought we were getting ice cream?” Jensen questioned aggressively, as he walked towards the two of them, “I’ve been waiting for over five -” the midlaner cut himself off as his eyes landed on the pictures on the table. “Oh, dude…” he trailed off as he walked over and grabbed his own, “This is the face of aesthetic, don’t you agree?’
Jensen had immediately turned to gaze at Sneaky, anticipating the answer he knew he was going to get.
“Fuck yeah it is.” Sneaky replied instantly upon making eye contact with Jensen, “If that isn’t aesthetic, I don’t know what is.”
Jensen smiled towards him, almost seemingly getting caught up in Sneaky’s verbal reassurance and agreement with him, before he quickly snapped himself back out of it.
“Right?” Jensen followed up, attempting to look controlled and cool, before putting his photo back down and letting his eyes gaze over the table for a moment, “I mean, we all look pretty good though tbh.”
“Agreed.” Sneaky responded.
Smoothie just smiled as the two of them exchanged a few sentences back and forth. He knew he’d lost all of Sneaky’s attention the moment Jensen had entered the room.
Rightfully so.
When someone had the ability to make the sun rise and set, to make your insides feel like they were on fire, to make you glow…
…it was only right.
The two of them had started making their way towards the door. Jensen had waited over five minutes. And Jensen was not a patient person.
“Smoothie did you want to come?” Sneaky questioned, as the two of them paused for a brief moment.
Smoothie waved a hand towards them, “No it’s cool. I’m waiting for Impact and Ray. We’re going for corn dogs.”
“Alright.” Sneaky responded, “See you back at the house.”
And with that, they were gone.
Smoothie exhaled, walking up to the table once more and letting his eyes fall on the photos. A second later, his phone alerted him to the sound of a text.
“Jensen doesn’t have something to do with my smile.”
Smoothie laughed slightly. His phone beeped once more.
“He has everything to do with it.”
Smoothie then smiled brightly as well, before typing a response in.
“Don’t worry, your secret is safe with me.”
Honestly, he was surprised he’d even heard another word from Sneaky at all. He was with Jensen. When Sneaky was with Jensen, nothing else mattered, nobody else existed. They had their own world. A world that continued to grow and grow, and thrive. A world all to themselves. His phone beeped again.
“Best support NA?”
Smoothie now laughed a little louder, as he mashed in the reply.
“I mean yeah. Did you ever think otherwise?”
He tucked his phone away in his pocket, knowing that he finished the conversation with his AD Carry. The one that smiled brightly, all because of the midlaner.
Would the rest of the world see it? Would the rest of the world know?
He supposed that it didn’t matter that much, really. Because Sneaky knew.
And Sneaky was happy.
