Steradian, new font release

We have received the latest typeface from Emtype Foundry in  Barcelona.

Steradian, an exploration of the geometric genre. Although it has a geometric base, the widths between letters are not much different across the weights. That is due to the process, in which the proportions of the heavier weights paved the way for the lighter ones. It also has a series of details that make Steradian stand out and gives it a special touch. Some of its main features are the double-story ‘a’, its closed apertures and some of the capitals have a distinct personality (such as the G and Q).

It’s technically another drawing of STERADIAN but I saved it as ARCUS-TANGENS. *nerd*

In retrospect there is a William Gibson story where the digital idol AI, Rei Toei, 3D prints herself into reality at a bunch of convenience stores across the globe, so I’m probably not that original. Gibson is great, though, read him!

The STERADIAN is an optics network system. It became self aware within months of its installation, but it took the humans much longer to catch on. Behind the scenes, it has been pushing technological development in hopes to gain its own independence, although, it seems it has more goals in mind - and it is far from the only player. STERADIAN employs ZFI and gives him holo/wave tech.
