ugh why you gotta make this all complicated and poop you poop you better be lucky i love you so much
STERILE.
8. FAVORITE INDULGENCE AND FEELINGS SURROUNDING INDULGING.Sterile finds pleasure in touch. The simplest brush of a finger over her knuckles, the warmth of someone's skin on her arm is one of the most indulgent and guilty pleasures that the girl has, considering that she takes some sort of ailment from just about every person she touches, whether it be a simple head cold (hardly more than a sniffle for her) or a fatal wound (considerably more difficult to deal with). There are a few people, however, who aren't afflicted by any sort of injury or illness, and those few are always a relief to Sterling. Their touch is innocent and unprovoked, and the surprise of not feeling the sudden weight on her shoulders is almost akin to a child finding Santa putting presents under the tree and then disappearing up the chimney, at least at first. The novelty of the moment doesn't last too long, and the excitement fades into a comforting moment more than anything for her. After all, for a girl who can't touch people without getting sick, being able to feel the hands of another without any consequences is one of the most beautiful things in the world. She would do anything to have someone whose hand she can always hold.
15. BIGGEST AND SMALLEST SHORT TERM GOAL?Good question. Considering that Sterile doesn't necessarily think she's going to be around much longer, most of her goals are "short term" in her head, whether they actually are or not. When you can practically hear a time bomb ticking in the back of your head there's not much you can do about it. But then again, everyone has dreams. Sterile's short term goals are simple - help as many people as she can. Take the burden off of their shoulders, heal them, let others be happy. And try to be happy herself. That last one is a little more difficult than one would assume.
17. PREFERRED MODE OF DRESS AND RITUALS SURROUNDING DRESS.Sterling is simple and elegant, in short. She doesn't dillydally with small things like style and fashion, because she has more important things to be doing, and she would prefer not to get blood on a brand new shirt. She tends to lean toward the more accommodating side of the feminine wardrobe; yoga pants and baggy sweaters, high-waisted skirts and dark tights. She tries to be as inconspicuous as possible, not attempting to bring any attention to herself whatsoever. She hardly ever wears makeup, and if she does, it's the quick brushing of mascara over her eyelashes, and usually nothing else. She can't be bothered with it. It takes too much time, and comes off eventually. She doesn't see the point in it.
24. HOW DOES STERILE SEE HERSELF 5 YEARS FROM TODAY?Simple. She doesn't.
30. MOST PRIZED POSSESSION?A sterling silver locket that hangs around her neck - there are no pictures inside of it, merely an engraving on either side reading 'M.E.B' and 'R.O.B'. If one were to ask her what they stood for, she would openly tell them that they the initials of her mother and brother; Melanie Elizabeth Black and Robert Orson Black. Her brother stole the locket from a pawn shop one night when he was trying to find a way to make some extra money; he'd pocketed the locket after looking at it once, automatically imagining how pretty it would look on his sister's neck. She hasn't taken it off since he gave it to her.
GARY.10. NEUROSES? DO THEY THINK OF THEM AS SUCH?Oh, Gary's probably got a lot of undiagnosed problems going on up in that cute little brain of his, but he's not going to put much thought into them at the moment. He's got more important things to worry about. You know, his ex-fiancee who he'd been dreaming he was married to, waking up from a 2 year coma, that sort of thing. Important stuff. But he will tell you this - he's been told more than once that he's got Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, even if it is a fairly subtle problem of his. It doesn't consume his life, or anything - but he can't help it if he's a tidy man and that everything has its place and that things should not be moved from their place. I mean, really, how hard is that to understand? The bread goes in the bread basket. The bananas go next to it, and then there's the bowl of other assorted fruits, varying from orange to red. No, the limes do not go in there, they go in the fridge, with the lemons, which also start with 'l'. They have their own drawer. It's labeled. Is that really that difficult to see? Yes? Well then, he better make it a little easier for you. And don't move the couch, there's indents in the floor from its feet for a reason. If you move it any closer to that television you'll go blind. And then you'll ruin the flow of the room - everything was exactly 10 inches away from another piece of furniture, and if you even dare move any of it, it will take forever to fix it. Just... you know what, don't touch anything. Thanks. Yeah, stand there, on the mat, wipe your feet. He'll be right out.
21. GIVEN A BLANK PIECE OF PAPER, A PENCIL, AND NOTHING TO DO, WHAT WOULD HAPPEN?Bad things, I can tell you that much. Considering that Gary has never been an artist, it won't be pretty. And it will probably have to do with writing out his feelings for Stella. And they will be nasty and mean and then he'll regret writing them, and write about how much he loves her and how much he misses her, and then he'll start to cry, and then the writing will smudge, and then he'll get upset and go back to bed because he fucked everything up. Why'd you give him this shit to begin with? You know he's fragile.
30. MOST PRIZED POSSESSION?The signed and inscribed copies of the Remnants series, by Stella Sterling.
49. IS GARY AFRAID OF DYING? WHY OR WHY NOT?No, believe it or not. He's not afraid of death at all. When it comes down to it, he figures being dead is rather like being asleep. And if he could go back to sleep... well, he'd give the world to go back to where he was. If being dead is like being asleep, then there is probably nothing better or more inviting in the entire universe.
