i know Eddie most likely learned about Steve and Nancy's relationship just through school, through Steve being popular and their relationship being pretty well known, but after Eddie admits to just how much Dustin talks to him about Steve and about how much Dustin looks up to Steve, i like to think he also told him about Steve and Nancy's rationship too. not about the breakup obviously, out of respect, but every time i hear this line i think of that scene in season 2
D: what type is Nancy?
S: Nancy's different. She's different than any other girls.
D: Yeah, she seems pretty special i guess.
S: Yeah, yeah she is.
i like to believe Dustin told Eddie about how special Nancy was to Steve and it makes the whole "cause that was as unambiguous a sign of true love as these cynical eyes have ever seen" just that much sweeter.
