Thoughts? Antis know their beliefs are built on sand. They freak out every time Harry or Louis show who they actually are.
That is an embarrassing tweet.
I’ve been here since 2013. Does this person really think Louis going on a podcast and saying something about Larry is going to change the seven million Larry things he and Harry have done over the last 15 years? Do they really think Louis saying something about Larry is going to erase how Harry-coded/gay the beginning of LT3 promo already is? Do they really think that whatever he says on a podcast will affect us when we’ve lived through a dozen different fake girlfriends, babygate, Larry denials, death threats, doxxing, etc?
Give me a break.
We’ll leave if we want to (and believe me, sometimes we want to), but not because of some twitter rant or manufactured podcast speech.

Then we had a meeting one day and it did. [Interview: What happened in that meeting? Was is it Simon saying something? Is it the boys? Is it representatives?] It was us boys, which was great. Always how it should be, like that, obviously, but I think... it almost might as well have been representatives. What's really fascinating is those real serious moments, we wouldn't have a lot of them in One Direction, we were just going with the flow and really happy, you know, for each other and stuff like that. But I think those kind of moments where you have to be selfish, it was an atmosphere that I never really felt in the band, because normally, like I said, we're arm-in-arm, arm-in-arm, so it's all this camaraderie, and then all of a sudden you get someone thinking more independently and more for themselves, which, by the way, they have every right to do, of course. But it just felt, the room felt… cold that day, I can remember that, in particular. There was… it was… I'm trying to find the right metaphor for it. It was something where— these are all the same faces that I've seen every single day, but I've never quite felt an energy like that in the room. There was like a, there was this emptiness. And I think probably because we knew, we all knew collectively where it was going, you know, and that's probably some friction between those ideas. The thing that really bothered me was, and this again is naive— I was so naive at the time— but I was adamant on having some kind of indication of, because it was, it was, it was originally said as— what's that fucking word we've used a million times— 'HIATUS.’ By the way, it's just such a cringey word. So it was originally pitched as that. So I was thinking, I remember saying like, 'Well, if I'm going to try and do some stuff on my own', and at this point I didn't even know what I was going to do, I was like, it'd be good to know how long this break's going to be for. So let's speculate, a year, two years, five years, 10 years, 15 years? I never really got an answer to that question, which I understand now, because truthfully, I don't think the people— or the person involved— was brave enough to answer that question deep down. I think they probably knew the reality, and that's why it was tough.

Louis: Diary Of A CEO (X)
So, I finished watching the interview. I know it’s been stirring up a lot of discussion in our fandom because of his mentions of Simon, Zara (which was very vague), and F. I want to talk about a few things and give my analysis. I think a lot of Larries are abandoning their critical thinking skills with this one, and I have no idea why. Let’s all take a big breath and look deeper. We know that nothing is ever straightforward with Louis.
Grief:
The main point of this entire interview is to commemorate Liam, Félicité, and Johanna. Let’s remember that. Don’t forget that Louis is a real person with real feelings. He was extremely vulnerable, and I feel like that should be the focus. Aside from all of the other bullshit, he shared his story of loss and recovery. In the process, he spoke beautifully of those who have passed. Don’t overshadow that with fandom discourse. He has proven that he is a remarkable man that rose above every shitty situation thrown at him. It wasn’t a linear process, and it wasn’t a without challenge, but he survived. I encourage you to watch the interview for yourself. He really did every single person justice. I was so blown away by how raw he was. The way he spoke of the people he has loved and loss was heart-wrenching.
This was for Liam, Félicité, Johanna, and Louis, himself—not us. Keep that in mind while you read the rest of my post. Fly high, angels. You will be missed and never forgotten.
And to Louis, you are truly incredible.
Simon:
Most notably, people are getting their panties in a twist over this comment:
“I think Simon, again, is an interesting person. He is a brilliant businessman. Now, I learned a lot from him. I still deeply respect him” (32:50-32:57)
First, it must be understood that Louis cannot make any remarks that explicitly defame him. There is still a level of power that Simon has over all of the boys. With that being said, I feel like Louis was very intentional with the way he worded things outside of this very impersonal comment. In fact, he was a lot more shady than a lot of people are letting on.
“Now, imagine that’s Simon Cowell, and you're 19 years old. There is a spell that comes with that, and there's a power that comes with that. And, I think, for a long time I kind of fell for all those kind of ideas.” (32:37-32:43)
He’s saying, subtly, that Simon manipulated him into hanging onto his every word. He was a young boy that was navigating a novel industry. He didn’t have much confidence, so when Simon showed him attention, he felt important. That is very natural, especially for someone that didn’t have a lot of fatherly/male influence growing up.
“l'd heard that some of the other boys were thinking about going to other labels, which was they were right to, and I found out I was the only one that was going to stay with him, and that just motivated me more.” (33:58-34:04)
Now, look at his face when he says that.
He speaks about how loyalty is something he values as a person, and it’s something that was instilled in him where he comes from (Northern England). Some people are forgetting that he was young when he made those decisions. Many look back on their 20’s with regrets because, at the end of the day, you’re still a kid. The difference between being a teenager and a young adult is very slim—you only have more independence and responsibility. You can see how naive he thinks he was just by his facial expressions. He was trying to prove something and get recognition from someone who didn’t give a shit about him. That’s tragic, and I know exactly what that feels like.
In essence:
When Louis said that he “deeply respects” Simon, it could be to steal the attention away from the subtle jabs he gives in other parts of the interview. Or, it could be that he respects the lessons he taught him—not to blindly trust the elite and powerful.
Zara:
He doesn’t mention her, by name, at all. These are some of the only quotes that hint at her. He phrased a lot of them in a weird way too.
Steven: “Um, and you went Instagram official.”
Louis: Yeah. Yeah. I saw that. New territory for me all that. Yeah, I'm learning on the job.” (1:45:46-1:45:52)
What an odd thing to say. What do you mean you’re learning on the job? If it’s a real relationship, your job has nothing to do with it. It’s almost as if she is the job.
“If I wasn't feeling so good right now—if I wasn't feeling so in love, the record probably would have a slightly different feel to it.” (1:48:12-1:48:17)
I find this weird to say too. He was supposedly “so in love” (with Eleanormygirlfriend) for the last two albums. There were definitely love songs on them. So was he in love with her or not? All very confusing. It’s so obvious he’s talking about Harry. His smile. His verbiage. He’s not talking about the stunts at all. My king is full of contradictions.
“As I said, I'm I'm like deeply deeply romantic person.” (1:47:46-1:47:53)
Yeah, we know. Especially after liking reels, apparently.
F:
I’m not going to touch on this too much. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I don’t like to discuss children on my blog.
What I will say is that some of the timelines don’t match up. I’m sure you could find other bloggers that go into more detail on this.
Here are some other quotes to think about:
“ I felt like I was going to be a good dad. I really wanted to do that and play that role” (1:40:24-1:40:30)
(last words are interesting)
“I'm always always balancing me time between tour and going to see Freddie in the UK.” (1:42:17)
(He lives in America)
Could simply be poor wording or delivery, but it’s something to ponder on nonetheless.
Harry:
He hardly mentions Harry at all. In fact, he mentions him the least. Even makes it seem like they only engage in “small talk” when they do communicate.
“Um like between the other boys, like not that it's not like emotional ‘cause, like, it is, and it's it's definitely deeper than surface level, but it's more I would struggle to text the other boys as much. I would love to hang out with them in person like that, but I just—there's an element of it feeling it's just all a bit small talk” (50:37- 51:02)
(Might I add, he just said he and Harry are “still good friends”, but that’s not the point I’m trying to make)
All of that is to be expected—he can’t talk about Harry; however, if you pay attention, you’ll notice some things.
Every time he mentions the boys, as a whole, what name does he say first every. single. time? Harry’s.
I’ll give receipts:
“So, I was the oldest 18. Then you got Harry, Liam, and Niall— they were 16, Zayn 17.” (56:58-57:03)
“Harry had his own dressing room, Liam did, Niall did, and me and Zayn shared.” (38:50)
Also, his use of the “partner” instead of girlfriend.
“Also, just, I feel so vitally like lucky to be able to have her [his mother] as my mentor ‘cause she’s just everything that I look to in life: friends and partners, etc.” (4:12-4:23)
Last Notable Moment:
Steven: “Is there anything else that you’ve been meaning to say?”
Louis: It's a great provocative question. *Nervous laughter*. Um, well, we should—we should—we should talk we should talk about Freddie for a second.”
He really gets tripped up on this question, chuckling and stuttering. Immediately, he diverts the topic to F. I think this is telling.
Here’s a gif of the moment right after he’s asked the question.
