The anime “aesthetic” has become quite trendy in internet rap circles since Xavier Wulf and Robb Bank$ started dropping references in their bars a handful of years back, but with the trendiness, has come quite a bit of faking the funk. If you’re looking for one artist that’s really about what they say, & portray in their visuals though, then look no further than Original God, the true king of anime rap. He doesn’t over do it, this is still just a hard-ass song with a cool Steven Jets video at it’s core, but you’ll notice a real attention to detail from him when it comes the nods to his favorite animes.

Now that TrippyThaKid’s out in Los Angeles, I’m excited for the wonderful new music and art that’s to come. I’ve long said he’s one of the most naturally gifted artists in the underground, and now that he’s finally in the perfect place for fruitful collaboration and more convenient promotion, I think his skill can really begin to flourish. “LEEDLE LEEDLE LEE” with Steven Jets is the first of this new era for the Tripmeister, and I’m excited to see where he’s able to take.
