So Stgeve’s a tiefling, of course, but both of her parents have elven ancestry. Specifically, her father has a drow ancestry (very obvious in coloration, as she looks more like her father), and her mother has eladrin ancestry.
Figured I’d draw how she’d look if she weren’t a tiefling, and how the colors would change had she taken more after her mother rather than her father.
And also, her with short hair? Love it. So much. It gets so curly.
Definitely having fun trying cel shading. Also: shading is a bitch. But I updated the reference for my first dnd character whom I love and cherish.
Stgeve is a Tiefling Bard currently working towards getting stronger to become a paladin. She’s in the College of Lore, a major copycat, and really hates magic missile. No, seriously, the additional magical secrets she picked up was from the battle in which she did no damage but caused a lot of chaos (fireball, copied from a sorcerer on the opposing side) and from the party’s cleric (spiritual weapon, which also made the dm die inside a little).
While I do keep most of her backstory a secret (she doesn’t trust the party despite her sweet, seemingly loving nature...unless you’re a thief), she’s a Folk Hero of Reed with 19 siblings, 5 dads, and 2 moms. Her best friend and childhood sweetheart was a human named Peony who died in her arms about five years ago.
Stgeve’s since got the blood of three men on her hands, one being Peony’s killer and the other two being recurring thieves she and two other friends had taken down. Only her blood father knows about Peony’s death.
As Peony had wanted to be a Paladin growing up, Stgeve (pronounced Steve) had vowed to take it on in her name.
I also made an updated version of Stgeve’s reference sheet. My sweet little tiefling bard/paladin and all of her...derpy glory.
Her horn will regrow after they both shed in the fall and grow back in the next spring but it got snapped off after being tossed around like a rag doll by a pissed off red dragon.
She’s casting command btw. I never could share my spellcasting reference as is so I need to finish the rest of her spells then get them all finished and split into smaller files.
So last session (over a month ago!) we had left off with Stgeve having Feign Death’d herself to prevent herself from being actually killed. Lasts for an hour and since she can’t dispel it on herself she has to wait the full hour.
Battle ends, Natasha (our ranger NPC) is holding her body and sobbing, thinking she is dead. Coin, Stgeve’s adopted son? Thinks she’s dead.
Marsha knows she’s not dead, but decides to try and bury her anyways. She recognized the spell since Stgeve used her for practice. But doesn’t stop them, in fact encourages them to do stupid ‘funerals’ for her.
They settle on a pyre and build it. Just as the hour mark passes, Stgeve sits up, stares straight at the cleric, and screams using Thaumaturgy to make it 3x as loud as a normal earsplitting shriek:
“YOU SON OF A BITCH I’M GOING TO RIP YOUR LEG OFF AND SHOVE IT UP YOUR ASS”.
In Infernal.
Which only our NPC Rogue Nox understands.
Stgeve ends up getting up and off the pyre before it can deal any damage, horn snapped in half from being ragdolled by a dragon, and hugs both her son and her friend.
And in all of this? She gained an intense fear of fire and of being helpless. Her trust in everyone who decided to get rid of her body- and joked about catapulting her body- dropped dramatically. And the monk’s words, who she barely knows, rings in her head for a while.
“She died as she lived. A coward.”
Anyways I had fun with my last game and can’t wait til next week haha.
I had the sudden urge to draw my tiny tiefling bardadin and her very freaking tall cousin as humans. So I gave 0 fucks about anatomy since I currently feel like crap, and just had some fun messing with these two. Turns out these distantly related relatives are both hopelessly in love and both have the same reaction to being greeted by the ones they love.
So going left to right on the second image we have Axel, who normally is a red skinned tiefling vengeance paladin who’s an absolute cinnamon roll for the most part and grew up in a church, hence the outfit. For his eyes, I went a more brownish red than the normal bright red, and just switched from red to oranges for his skin tone, leaving his hair the same.
Then Aspen, who’s an eladrin draconic sorcerer/arcane trickster and best friend of Axel since childhood. As a human, I made his natural haircolor the sort of brownish red found in his autumn form, and made his skin tone less saturated than his autumn form’s skin, alongside giving him his spring form’s eyes. His scales became tattoos that cover his back and his normal tattoo became more complicated in nature, while all of his ear piercings took on different colors from each season, alongside its bell. He’s not good at fashion despite being a noble, so his human fashion is equally as bad.
Stgeve, or ‘Stef’ in this AU, is originally a tiefling lore bard/ancients paladin. In her original form, she has dark grey skin and white hair, and tarnished looking eyes. I made her natural hair color the same as her canon skin color, while changing the eyes slightly just so they have whites. Common’s not her native language and she primarily thinks in infernal, which the dm and I decided would be latin for the sake of simplicity. In her case, Spanish would also work as her name is Estgeban, after all, and I referenced an old pic of a childhood friend of mine for the skintone as I had remembered them being quite close to how I imagined human Stgeve. She’s also just surrounded by tall people. She’s only 5ft tall after all. Her sweater is actually the same colors as the scar on her chest, and her pants are actually the same color as Aspen’s shirt in his primary winter form.
Natasha, our human hunter ranger, was pretty easy. Just gave her a dress and a choker necklace and that was it. She was already human after all haha.
Now, either onto the argument between my backup characters while my old backup character cries in the corner about needing to be replaced, or doodles from last session should be coming up soon. Or maybe the minis that I need to have ready by Friday morning. Either way, thank you guys for your support. You have no idea how much it means to me. Seriously.
