So Eddie is immediately given the benefit of the doubt when he’s the last person seen alone with a girl who ends up dead. Even to the point that a bunch of the them go looking for him to try and help him. Meanwhile last season they all knew Billy was possessed by the Mindflayer and no one tried to find him and help him.

Sorry but I’ll never be done being bitter over how Billy’s been treated on this show. I’m still in the beginning of my watch of season 4 and holding out hope we’ll see Billy again but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt everytime I see Eddie and how much effort the show has clearly put in for us to like him. Seeing him have scenes with the Party and be friends with all of them is just like a gut punch reminder that the show didn’t allow for that with Billy. Which is why no matter how the story plays out I can’t help but look at Eddie as Billy’s replacement. The Duffers should have made him more of his own character and less like a Billy knock off.

I just really want to say thank you to the Harringrove fandom for keeping Billy alive. You guys have done some amazing things with him in fan works and I just feel like Billy belongs to us now not the Dbag Brothers who never in a million years knew how to handle a character so complex (mostly thanks to Dacre).

Why do the Duffers insist on painting Billy as a monster even after his death I’m so sad and angry. Do they not realize people like him exist? 😔 When you’re a kid and you have no support system and you’re dealing with abuse of course you’re angry of course you don’t know how to have healthy relationships. Billy made a lot of mistakes but he didn’t deserve to die. He deserved to grow and change he was only 18 for fucks sake! There’s so much you don’t know about yourself at that age. He deserved to know what life is like with love and support. And I don’t care what anyone says he cared about Max. He just didn’t know how to show it. You can’t show vulnerability when your guard is up all the time trying to protect yourself. Not to mention Billy sacrificed his life and died in the most brutal way possible just to save Max (and El) so yeah he cared. You all can have you opinions about him but Billy and those of us like him we fucking matter so remember that the next time you say he deserved to die.

From what I understand El is supposed to be 15 in season 4

Billy was 18 in season 3

That’s a three year age difference.

So explain to me why her actions of hitting a girl in the face with a skate (something that could have killed her or gave her brain damage) is excusable even celebrated in the ST fandom, yet Billy whose worst action was pushing Lucas up against a shelf is treated worst than Vecna.

Both El and Billy were victims of abuse. Difference being that El had a whole support system around her, she knew she was loved and she knew she was safe and at least at the time of the skating incident she had been away from her abusers for a some time. Billy was still very much dependent on his abuser and dealing with physical and emotional abuse on a daily basis. It made sense that he would be as angry and unstable as he was when he was just struggling to survive day to day with no one to help him.

So why does fandom excuse El’s actions as she was abused so it makes sense that she’d lash out in anger but doesn’t want to even attempt to understand Billy’s?

Why is one abuse victim seen as redeemable while the other who is only three years older seen as a waste of human life?

Billy and El could have been going to school together if they were born at the right time. You’re telling me that two high school kids both victims of abuse don’t both deserve compassion and understanding and deserve to be saved from that abuse and deserve to know a life with some happiness?

I just don’t think I’ll ever understand how someone could look at a teenager and think nope your abuse doesn’t matter. You didn’t do enough to prove you were a good person so you deserve to die.

The way so many people in this fandom advocate for violence and death against a teenager who was trying his best to survive living in an abusive home (with no support system) is really scary. Not to mention the fact that a lot of you also advocate for that same violence towards people who love and relate to Billy. You know many of us who are also abuse victims/survivors in real life.

Sorry but you’ll never convince me that you hating on Billy and us is about what’s morally right or whatever. You just don’t like this character and you want to feel morally superior like you’re doing what looks like the right thing on the surface by hating the guy everyone says is racist. There is literally no deeper thought process here for most of you than that.

And here’s the thing I don’t believe Billy is racist especially because Dacre didn’t play him that way but even still even if he was/is a 17 year old who says something racist doesn’t fucking deserve to die. People deserve a chance to change and grow and be better than the horrible environments they were raised in.

The idea that Billy didn’t deserve love and happiness and a moment of time in his life when he wasn’t always scared of what he would say or do that would set Neil off, simply because he took his pain and anger out on the people around him is just severely messed up.

The fact that so many people in the ST fandom could watch Billy being tortured by the Mindflayer literally made to drink chemicals and hurt people against his will. Cry out to Max for help and then sacrifice himself to save everyone and still people laugh at his death and say he deserved worse.

Honestly I’m tired of trying to be polite sincerely if you can’t have an ounce of empathy for an abuse victim and especially for real abuse victims unfollow/block me. I think we should all be able to like and dislike what we want but the kinds of grotesque hate I’ve seen towards Billy and his fans is just outer limits and I won’t stand for it anymore.
