Big Mouth S4E7: Four Stories About Hand Stuff
So there is a lot of stuff coming to light about the PJO and HOO books, how people are noticing or finding some rascist/homophobic stereotypes. While i agree rick riorden could have done a lot better, i also say he could have doen a lot worse. These books helped me familiarize with lgbtq+ charectors and recognize my own sexuality (ACE). I got to see someone who was my race (leo) be a hero, and deal with stuff i've delt with, and still work through and find happiness. It talks of abuse and discrimination is a way kids can understand and yeah, thats not always the best way to describe serious situations, but these books are for kids. All us older fans who are going back seeing problematic stuff, kids won't realize is a good thing. Rick introduced us to a lot of real world things subtle, so now that we're older we have a way better understanding with our own research and opinons. So yes, some things are problematic for us older kids, who want our escapism to be done to standards we are given now, or want to be given now, but their not. You cant go back and change the books, and as someone who was introduced to the fact that their are other sexualites out there in the world, POC can be heroes and still deal with issues that i do, and abuse is in many different forms, from these books and went on to learn more outside of them, i understand their not perfect dipictions, but they still opened my eyes and helped me grow.
i guess it is true
some things never change
After we convinced him not to steal bras, Bucky went on to other hobbies,
I don’t count time here as ‘living’. This is just ‘existing’ and ‘getting paid’. It’s time that exists outside of real time. It’s way different here. Slower and faster at the same time. Like hell. You’ll figure that out soon enough.
Amethyst, in my fic I’m writing. This is the one line that I actually like.
as a show so heavily influenced by martial arts, the fact that the cast is so majorly non-asian bothers me so much
I’m at that point in getting over my celebrity crush that I desperately don’t want to see Benny C’s face anymore.
the fact that he had the audacity to come to me complaining about shallow people when he chose someone pretty with no personality over me is horrifying
