Here's the finished product of the embroidery + watercolor mixed media project. A couple tips: add more water to the paint to get a cool color bleed effect and try stitching on those jagged edges. You'll be amazed by the effect. Also, muslin, broadcloth, or Kona cotton works best for paint. Next up on #HeyPaulTips, crayon blending and shading as a fill. I recently became pen pals with my Niece in Texas. As my luck would have it, she wants to learn to sew. I'll start her out on #embroidery, of course. Making a series of videos for her. Thought they may be good for you new stitchers out there. || {Threading a Needle} ▫️measure the thread from your finger to your elbow. Anything longer will get all knotty ▫️tie a simple knot at one end. ▫️pinch the other end between your thumb and pointer ▫️lick that thread 😛 to make it easier to thread ▫️pinch the thread and move the needle over the thread. The needle should be moving, not the thread ▫️leave a couple inches hanging and you are ready to stitch || #StitchWithPaul #HeyPaulTips #DearMakStitching
