So I couldn’t decide how I wanted to write for the previous ask (there wasn’t anything wrong with it, I’m just dumb and confused myself over how I wanted to respond because there’s different ways to interpret something) and so here are some of the things that didn’t make the cut but that I wanted to share in case these might be enjoyed as well.
These are mostly things before Adaman/reader are a thing but because my brain saw “S/O”, it translated to “romantic relationship already established” and so I thought maybe these didn’t apply. I know, so dumb lmao. Regardless, I’m posting these too in case they’re okayish.

When he first met you and learned you specialized in ghost type Pokemon, he was in awe. Well, he was also a tad bit intimidated too, if he was being honest. Ghost types are notorious for being scary and mischievous. Quite dangerous too seeing as they could appear anywhere and phase through anything as well as having a connection to the afterlife and feeding on negative emotions, etc. He wasn’t the sort to be superstitious but most people did not befriend ghost types for good reason.
Though your Pokemon unsettled him a bit, he’d come to learn that you weren’t the sort to have Pokemon that’d hurt others or use them to cause and inflict terror or harm. It took a bit of time though, as he was wary of them but realized he had nothing to fear when he caught the sight of you surrounded by your team after some training. There was such love and warmth emanating from you both that he knew then that there was nothing to fear. Someone who was able to tame ghost type Pokemon and earn these tricksters’ trust showed your strength and dedication as a trainer and person. Being someone who trained ghost type Pokemon must not be easy and surely brought about a lot of misunderstandings from others. Regardless though, it spoke of your resolve; maybe Iscan can learn a thing or two from you? Adaman also knew you weren’t one to easily display your emotions, but here, with your Pokemon, you had a gentle smile and a warmth in your eyes that he’d never seen before. It must be something reserved only for your team. It was sweet. And it made his heart ache a little. He hoped you’d look at him like that someday too.
When he finally allowed himself to have his guard down and fully trust your Pokemon, they saw it as an opportunity to have another human friend to play with. They loved you of course but they knew you couldn’t spend all your time playing with them - you needed a break too.
So cue to Adaman suddenly experiencing odd sights and instances - his pokeballs taking flight, a cold heaviness above his shoulder as though something was sitting on it, his hair tie going missing, his shoes (sometimes one of them, sometimes both), his haori, you name it, it was often either missing or floating away somewhere or out of his reach.
The moment he realized your Pokemon were playing with him though, he felt so much joy in knowing they liked him enough to spend time with him. Especially considering how protective they were of you and how much they preferred your presence over anyone else’s.
How ever much they teased and made a habit out of scaring him, he never got upset - he found it endearing how happy they seemed to have another person to play with. However, what he didn’t realize was that there was another motivation behind it.
He never realized there was more to them just making him look like a fool in front of you. As much as he hated to admit it - because it was embarrassing - they caught on to his feelings for you and so he figured they were teasing him more because of that. It didn’t occur to him that they would mess around with him whenever you two were together because it meant they’d get to see you smile more.
Adaman had no idea his feelings were mutual. You were much the same. You liked him but weren’t sure of how he felt. So your Pokemon would often get you two into situations where you’d both laugh from their antics and feel more at ease with each other. Maybe then you two would finally confess? Oh, your Pokemon could only hope.
You cherished your Pokemon and knew they didn’t particularly care for humans other than getting a laugh out of pranking them whenever the chance arose, but when Adaman entered the picture, it became interesting. You’d never seen your Pokemon so excited to see and be with another human unless it was a child who wasn’t scared of them and simply wanted to play.
Watching the leader of the Diamond clan humor and indulge your silly Pokemon made your heart melt. You were also protective of them due to people being afraid and overly superstitious of them, so to see that they were able to open up to another person made you feel like you could do the same with him too. You just never expected to fall for him.
Being with him made you feel safer than you ever did with anyone else. He never judged you for not being as talkative or expressive as others. He appreciated how direct and honest you were as he did not like people who wasted his time beating around the bush and the like. He very much enjoyed his conversations with you as well as your company. He never once found you boring.
When you two finally confessed your feelings to each other and got together, Adaman was thanking almighty Sinnoh for the huge blessing it was that you reciprocated his feelings. He could not have been any happier. He had been dreaming of the day he’d get to be by your side and be more than friends.
If you’re okay with physical touch, Adaman would always hold your hand in his or entwine an arm with yours whenever you were together. He loved being close to you and getting to show the world he was yours and you were his. If your Pokémon are out and about with you though, sometimes they’ll tease Adaman and attempt to steal away your attention instead. Even though they were as happy as can be when you two finally got together. Adaman could only ever laugh and play along though, he loved them and knew that this was their way of playing with him and you both.
If you’re not okay with physical touch, he doesn’t mind. He understands and respects you so he doesn’t question or ask you to explain it. He trusts you and knows that there are other ways to show and give affection. He’s just so happy you liked him back.
