🏡 please!
I absolutely adore this WIP I just need to rip the bandaid off and finally finish the mountain of WIPs I have. I call this ship Stonerdolls, because Cheerscoops remind me of Barbie and Ken.
Then they're laying there. Side by side, like they've always been, skin slightly sheening with sweat and lungs working to regain their fuel. And it's quiet. She used to love the quiet that fell between them. They never seemed to need speech when just being physically present with each other was enough. They would lay for hours just cuddling or reading side by side. But this quiet was different. It felt like the absence of something as opposed to the lack of necessity. There had been a weird heaviness between them since it happened. They still smiled. They were still sweet, still touchy. Steve was a doting boyfriend and Chrissy was the dumbstruck puppy dog that followed him everywhere. But it felt almost mournful now. Emptier. She's worried about bringing it up. She doesn't want to be the one to start that spiral, because she had no idea how it would end, and even the thought of the worst case scenario made her stomach turn over dead. But this wasn't the kind of thing you didn't talk about. They came out one way or another, and it usually got worse the longer you went avoiding it. You couldn't avoid these things, or they'd fester. Well, fuck, they were already festering. She could feel it, and it terrified her.
