Only people who commit violent crimes deserve to be bullied, made fun of, or hated on.
Only violent crimes (murder, rape, arson, torture, etc) should ever be considered ‘cringe’.

Steve ‘Espo’ Powers - Black Lives Matter
So... Time passes and I guess i'm finally ready to figure out and share with anyone reading this all the things I feel after The Magicians ended. And I suppose haters and misunderstandings because I need to talk about Queliot and the whole fandom. But I do need to outspeak.
Also there are two points I need to mention before: the first is my being bisexual genderfluid, the second - my being Russian. I guess you understand why I think it may be important.
So starting from the very beginning - Quentin. Quentin is my favorite character of The Magicians and also I dare say the best queer character ever shown in cinema. Nowadays queer persons are present in almost every show but honestly they are all trite. Even Eliot in the very beginning. But Quentin is not. Quentin is true and he is never emphasized on his queerness, he is not even interested in it, he is so natural (what an irony in this word) about his feelings both to Alice and Eliot it can't be debased. Q lives and changes and there no drama of his being not-as-straight-as-it-seemed. For me that's what tolerance is.
And I fully understand why fandom loves him. And I do. And I totally agree about how much his death hurts.
So the second is about killing I dare say Queliot. I don't know the truth neither fandom does but from the very moment Q died I supposed the only reason for killing him is Jason's intension to leave. And without knowing the truth I can't accuse the showrunners of that. Moreover the way they did it looked so much like Q. BUT.
BUT.
I find it unreasonably and unacceptably cruel not to let Eliot talk to him at the end. And it still hurts so fucking much.
But you know, maybe in Europe and USA finishing Queliot like that is homophobia, but here in Russia showing Queliot like that is blessing. I do starve for that. And it is so God damn great we can be shown such a complicated, sincere, true to life story. If you want to see hatred you can see it. Just try to see love. That is the point I want to share most.
The third thing is about fandom and season 5. After season 4 ended and 5 was ongoing I saw so many posts like "I hate showrunners and don't want to watch it" and "the end of season 5 sucks too" and so on. And here a fucking ouroboros comes, because we have low ratings and the show closure. I think it's predictable for the end of the season to be far from the best if the show is closed in the middle of it. I think it's predictable for the show to be closed because of low ratings.
And it's not only the showrunners' fault but the fandom's too.
You know, that sucks. All these holywars and hatred. Because The Magicians are not about that. Because for me The Magicians are a happy place against all that shit. And the wonderful cast is against hatred, you can easily see it too. That's why I love them even more.
And no matter if the end of season 5 is not good enough, the story is not over, is it? The other one begins. Remember what Penny 40 told Quentin in 04x13? Isn't that the point?
The smoke of hatred warns of the flames of destruction. Dereliction of recompense creates the combustion. The inferno of rage accelerates devastation. The ashes of injustice become as the reaping condemnations. Who will stop the reckoning fire? Who will arise from the ashes of a scorched nation?

There was another shooting in Odessa today.
Less than a month after El Paso, when no one was done grieving yet.
Before I transferred colleges, a boy in the club I was in pulled a gun and spare ammo out of his trench coat pocket IN AN AREA FULL OF STUDENTS just to show it off.
Last time I went to a club, my friend told me that crowded places like that make her nervous now.
They scare me, too.
When school started back up, we had a training on what to do during a shooting in the same way we do with fire safety.
We talked about places in the clinic to take cover, how we needed to help any patients we could.
I have to scan my ID to get into every. Single. Classroom. At. My. SCHOOL.
Last semester there were at least two shooting-related lockdowns at my partner's school.
He had to hide in a closet.
My grandparents' Walmart was briefly shut down because of an influx of calls about shootings and bombings.
I'm so tired.
This isn't a mental health issue, this is a gun issue. A cultural issue. An anger and entitlement issue.
Hatred isn't a disease, it's learned.

Had to turn off anons because of the hate I am getting, the words which been said to me are so disgusting and immature I don’t want for my brain to explode from the stupidity and hatred! It is so disgusting and pathetic what social media do with some people!
And calling me names only shows who you really are.
Reblog if you’re a black person that doesn’t hate white people.
