It was 20 years ago today (ish) :: New Year’s 2003: The lights of my life are let loose on the Lake District for what turned out to be both a moderately successful pheasant shoot and one fascinating little holiday.

It was 20 years ago today :: 18 December 2002 : The Two Towers premieres in Wellington, New Zealand and the lights of my life are at home, sweet Hobbiton home. [ the NYC premiere | the Paris premiere | the London premiere | the Los Angeles premiere ]

I have been twirling mentally since last night over this, because I called this 20 years ago and can’t believe it’s actually taken them this long (just listen to me the first time, you idiots; it will save everyone’s sanity). If I’m truthful, they’re a little too old for the roles, but they’ll make it work. 

(Even nine years ago here, I was tagging them as rosencrantz and guildenstern. It takes such a long time for my powers to activate, and I am so impatient, but we all get there in the end.)

It was 20 years ago today :: 5 December 2002: The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers premieres in New York, and the lights of my life are shiny, sleepy, shorn, and most important of all, suited.

It was 20 years ago today :: 16 December 2002 : Air New Zealand debuts its Lord of the Rings Frodo plane at LAX as part of the promotional run for The Two Towers premieres, and the lights of my life (with a great deal of help from Andy Serkis and Bernard Hill) are ... well, likely flying a bit high.
