In a surprise announcement, Jim Ryan from Sony Interactive Entertainment posted an update on the official PlayStation Blog regarding the impending PS3 and PS Vita PlayStation Store closure that was expected this August. Goodbye Xbox 360 Store
Like many around the world, I decided to plug in my 360 after years of not using it today. To be honest I didn't drop gaming as a hobby, most of the titles I enjoyed on the console were ported or backwards compatible.
Moments of happiness came rushing back, a simpler time in my life.
Experiencing the first version of backwards compatibility, which honestly still blew the ONE and Series out of the water.
Playing Mech Assault 2 on Cross-generation lan with friends.
Playing a ton of Halo Multiplayer at others houses.
Beating ODST couch co-op style.
Teaching my then girlfriend how to play Rainbow Six Vegas 2.
Getting taught how to play on Guitar Hero expert by her.
Playing Tales of Vesperia until 1 am with friends. Sad the newest entry dropped multiplayer.
Many more memories will come back I'm sure but damn this was the last insanely magical, epic gaming generation.
