Just wanna put this fic idea down somewhere so I remember it.
I've been pondering the Quebecois/Swedish dynamic a lot lately, and cannot get the ''I don't bite'' clip out of my head either, so...
My concept stem is that PO arrives in Vancouver and charms the socks off of Petey basically right away (Kris taught him all of his wisdom from dating Erik back in the day). But, Petey is taken by Quinn, and their relationship has kinda stagnated, isn't really enriching them anymore, and Petey is 99% sure Quinn is leaving soon. Quinn hates that this new guy is making Petey laugh, and is jealous as hell about it.
Flash forward to December 13th, and Quinn leaves for Minny, but there's no official ''breakup''. So, everyone is super confused, and no one knows what's going on anymore.
Then, Quinn gets together with Kirill, and Petey is devastated. The whole Canucks team rally around him, and he gets closer with PO and the other former Penguins.
Cue the Olympics, and things are tense between Petey and Quinn. Arty, Lanky, and Fil won't let him out of their sight, and Erik just... knows something has shifted, because he's been there. Quinn doesn't know what he's done wrong, and needs it explained to him that you should formally break up with someone before getting into a new relationship. It doesn't exactly stick, but oh well...
Anyway, Petey gets home all sad about Milan, and PO is just there if he wants to rant. And; he does, a lot, he wants to rant about everything.
I don't know if I want a clear ending or ambiguous one for this, because I'm bad at endings in general. I just love the trope of a person who is neglected in one relationship finding something healthier with someone unexpected.
