hello hello curse of strahd players

i’m trying to get krezk figured out from a lore standpoint, and i’m really struggling with the abbot’s story. i want to keep the overall arc of the story the same (ie the direction of change before the campaign starts), but i really don’t like the existing mongrelfolk plotline.

if anyone has input on what their DMs did with this, please let me know! i’m open to tweaking the story or replacing it entirely, i just dislike the module’s tendency to go “here is this horrible situation. you can’t do anything about it but isn’t it fucked up? anyway go fight some random vampire spawn” lol. running a campaign designed to make players feel pointless is a little :/ for me
