THE MOMENT WHEN;
It’s Michael who shows up at her door as she is packing her suitcase. It’s not supposed to be a long trip. It’s just for a week or so. They aren’t going far either. It’s just back to her old hometown. She wants to show Morgan around. She wants to take him to all the places that she loved. She wants to be there with the person that she loves. Not that she’s vocalized her feelings because that would be terrifying.
It’s Michael who asks if he can come inside and she lets him in without hesitance. He’s the one person who has always been kind to her since the day that she met him. He’s never treated her badly because of her father. He’s always been kind. The expression on his features causes confusion to play on her own. It’s hard to describe what she sees. But, it something between agony and a simmering rage, and it’s not at all Michael. His eyes are red, puffy, and his hands are shaking in a way that she’s only seen a few times in her life. It’s nothing that she’s seen on him. But, she has seen this before, and it dawns on her.
Someone is dead. A chill rolls through her as the first thought is of her father. Had he finally gone too far and landed himself inside a shallow grave, somewhere? Her hands go to her mouth as she realizes that Michael wouldn’t be there for that. One of her brothers would have shown up, Dante, Olivia or any other number of people. But, it wouldn’t be on Michael to tell her, and it’s then that she realizes it has to be someone else . His shaking hands are already reaching for her as her hands drop to her side. She can feel them settle on her shoulders as his eyes meet hers.
“Ellie.”
Tears well in her eyes at the nickname that he had given her so long ago. “Just tell me, Michael.” And she wants him to tell her because the waiting, the ideas that are forming in her head are too much, and she cannot handle it much longer.
“It’s Morgan. He’s dead, Ellie--”
The words are barely out of his mouth when she jolts away from him in a reckless manner. “No, he’s not dead, Michael. He’s not!” She’s insistent about it. There’s no way that he could possibly be dead. He couldn’t be gone. He had just been there a few hours ago.
Her eyes are burning and it feels as though the room is spinning. He starts to explain what had happened. She’s not even listening anymore. It’s not until his father’s name comes up that she’s suddenly out of the fog surrounding her. She can finally focus enough to hear him. It’s Sonny’s fault. They think it is, anyway. The bomb had been on Julian’s car. It’d killed Morgan. Sonny had killed Morgan.
Her knees feel weak as she realizes that she will never get to say the things that she had wanted to say to him. The words would remain unspoken, locked away in a part of her heart for no one to hear, and he’d never know how much she’d cared. She’s not sure when she began to scream, or when her knees gave out, or when she landed on the ground.
All she knows is that she’s there and she feels like she cannot breathe. There’s a hole inside that isn’t going to be able to be filled. Even Michael joining her on the ground with his arms around her, her head pressed into his shirt, and him whispering soothing words is doing nothing to help.
“I didn’t tell him. I never told him.”

@straightouttabensonhurst AHDKDHAK THEY KILLED MORGAN!!!!!
a wide smile adorned emily’s face once she had learned that the little girl that she used to babysat was now as mother. emily had missed out on so much while being held against her will by helena cassadine. ‘ you must be elated to be a grandma. i remember how happy my mom was when michael was just a baby, even with all of my family’s craziness. ‘ however, emily knew that rocco falconeri was no longer an infant but a little boy. ‘ i still can’t believe that michael, kristina and morgan are no longer kids. ‘
