Do you have a song for Riddle x Catherine? 👑🌹X🍓🐱
So, I have two angst songs for them (need to find some cute ones I swear)
Strawberry Rose (unrequited)
Catherine is the one who always catches feelings first, but she also holds Riddle up on a pedestal (not healthy). "You have so much to do and I have nothing ahead of me". Catherine is accepting of her death, even without it she "knows" she's worthless and replaceable. But in her eyes Riddle is amazing and will have such an amazing life.
He is the sun to her, bright and shinning, leading the way. But Catherine is the darkness in her mind. Dark, scary, unwanted.
Her "mom" is Rose, not a true mom and also helped bring Catherine semi out of her mother's mindset. Riddle's mother obviously doesn't like it. She doesn't want a bad influence on her son, she'd never approve of Catherine's raising.
"You're the one. You're all I ever wanted. I think I'll regret this..." Catherine regrets not telling Riddle her feelings as it kills her inside to see someone else by his side but as long as Riddle is happy. Riddle's happiness is her priority always. And she "knows" she can't give him what he deserves.
Strawberry Rose (potential breakup/first drama)
"There is nobody better than you". Once again Riddle is golden in Catherine's eyes, even with his mistakes. She takes the good and bad and sees him as amazing.
They helped each other. Riddle helped Catherine blossom and become herself and Catherine brought Riddle out of his mother's control slightly. But in doing so she revealed a bit of her hidden childhood. She was still lying to Riddle about who she really is.
"So I don't blame you if you want to bury me in your memory, I'm not the girl I ought to be, but maybe when you tell your friends, you can tell them what you saw in me, and not how I turned out to be..." Catherine, once she finds out Riddle knows the truth panics. Why would Riddle love her when she's a damaged, useless runaway? If she was Alice and acted how she should Riddle's mother would approve of their relationship. "Catherine" should be a well mannered, elegant daughter from a wealthy family. But instead she's a chaotic cat. Catherine initiates the "breakup". But she wants Riddle to only talk about her as Catherine after, even if he knows she's Alice.
"There's some kind of burning in my heart. It's kept me from falling apart. And I'm sure that you've seen what it's done to my heart. But it's kept me from falling apart" Catherine talks about Alice like she's a separate person. She's not Alice, she could never be Alice. The pain, the trauma, the expectations. It's all Alice and she'll never live up to the perfect Alice. She's "worthless and better off dead".
Catherine wants to run away when Riddle learns the truth. Catherine always runs away. From the house of her childhood, from the forest that loved and raised her. And now she wants to runaway from NRC and people who care about her. Catherine creates expectations that people have for her, and scared of it all she runs. She always runs away, but just once she wants to stay. But she's so very scared.
