Ontario colleges strike - day 25
As we slowly head into week 5 of the Ontario College strike, I’m starting to lose hope. I am in my second year of Social Service Worker and our week is already condensed (2 days in class, 3 days in field). We keep being “reassured” that we will not lose our semester but at what cost to the students?
Here is what I know;
We’ve been pretty much told that we’re losing this semester.
We are NOT being reimbursed any tuition we have paid (1,600$ for my first semester)
OSAP may not come in in January
Our first semester might be extended, which would mean no Christmas break, reading week and going until May or June
This is completely and utterly unnecessary.
I’m ready to drop out
“Please try to continue your studies during this time” - yeah okaaaaaaay, I’ll get right on that. I have a Genogram to do, a 16 pay legislation term paper and a group project (which no one wants to work on)
I’m.
So.
Done.
