                 HE DIDN’T TRUST THE KID.  Not a damn bit.  He’s seen him vaguely over the years. Not really paying him too much attention. But from he’s faith was limited that his intentions were anything but self servicing. He looked down at the KID. Because that’s all he was. An arrogant kid. This wasn’t a hero.    ❝ Go home. there’s  an  eye  roll  at  the  crinkle  of  paper,  and  the  way  brandon’s  fingers  slide  to  seal  tape  to  uncooperating  fabric.  a  smile  is  pasted  on  steve’s  face  when  their  eyes  meet,  an  oblivious  mask  neatly  arranged.  he’d  get  the  kid  back  later,  when  he  was  least  expecting  it,  for  now  he’d  pretend  he  hadn’t  noticed.

seeking comfort after a big fight was normal -- he knew that. with the way things had gone down, it was a night where you didn’t want to be alone. when adrenaline had been high, the only way to make a racing heart calm down was through the exertion.

          though, what was perhaps what made things complicated was who was there for him to seek that comfort from.

being apart had been more difficult than connor had realized, as there were many things that had happened that put things into perspective for him. while he wasn’t the sort to impose upon someone when they didn’t want it, he couldn’t deny the unshakable belief that breaking up had been the wrong thing to do. maybe they had needed space, maybe they -- no. he had the patience to wait out anything. he could give brandon that time, but what he knew was that he needed him.

              laying in a hospital bed, wondering if you’d make it through, could do that to a person.

❝ just -- please. ❞ his voice is a pained whisper as his calloused hands hold on to the other’s, his forehead gently pressing to brandon’s. another fight had been way too close for comfort, and fear had struck him deep as he had desperately moved away rubble to make sure brand on had been okay. now that they were back in brandon’s apartment and he was able to tangibly confirm it, he was having a hard time letting him go.

he knew brandon was uncertain, he knew that he worried about ‘corrupting’ him or whatever crazy thing he’d come up with to keep them apart, but connor didn’t care. this was the person he’d chosen. he waited for the go ahead, still respecting boundaries where he could, and once he had it he dove right in, crashing his lips to the other’s in a deep and engaging kiss. connor was still so inexperienced in comparison, but as they worked at peeling off super suits and other protective wear, his fingers moved with familiarity.

                    brandon was one of the only people he could say he was familiar with in such a way, anyway.

his hands slid across the other’s skin as he lowered himself down to his knees. there was gentle desperation in his actions, his lips ghosting across his hips until they met his arousal. wrapping his hand around the base, he gave a hesitant stroke before peering up to brandon’s face with his bright, kind eyes.
