bootstrappers moments from recent visits
firstly, NOTHING could have prepared me to see Syd doing the 67 hands during his verse of Fathom the Bowl. he did it at the Professor, and then glanced at me for 0.04 seconds looking pleased with himself as I was like omg no you did not
Syd (on the same day) playing the Bluey theme song on mandolin thrice - once before a song, once in the middle of Bully in the Alley (which he called Bluey in the Alley, sigh) and once in the middle of Flowers of Edinburgh
Stringfellow telling me that the accordion player wasn't there bc he'd been drinking and has a lower tolerance than the rest of the crew (presumably he meant Grieving Tim as this is who I normally see on accordion)
Stringfellow doing his dog bark sounds so excessively during the early morning set that Schooner Bob shook him by the sleeve and said enough already, for god's sake
The Professor playing a lute on the island! I asked him about it and that exchange was the most I've ever interacted with him. we are both more soft spoken and I like this a lot lol I feel represented :p
I missed getting on the raft by two people, which has never happened to me before. Syd, from the raft, said "wow you were this close 🤏🏼... well, you tried" and Stringfellow fake cried and waved dramatically as the raft pulled away
I swear they are all mind readers because every time I think to myself I haven't heard a particular song in a while and I might request it, they sing it that day before I get the chance. This happened recently with Dogger Bank, Larry Maher, and Get Up Jack John Sit Down
Also, not a highlight but I haven't seen Grieving Tim in over a monthhh. what if I cried :(
