Many, many years ago, at one of those junctures in my life where things were as tough as tough can be, I found myself homeless in NYC. Someone I cared for very deeply dropped me off at this location, which was then a shelter. I ended up living here and then working here for around six months. I encountered some of the hardest fighting people in my life, full of misery and generosity. I'll never forget it, or fail to be grateful for it.
