I pole dance. With the connotations of pole dancing and its history, it's difficult to tell people I pole dance without being seen being seen as unprofessional and slutty. But pole fitness means so much more to me - it helps me get toned; it increases my stamina; it gives me confidence as I see my body getting leaner and fitter; it improves my memory as I remember the moves of the dance routine and the techniques; it helps me be less clumsy (swinging around on an 38mm pole works wonders for balance); I feel I can take on the world one baby step at a time, as I nail those moves I couldn't hit previously. One day, one day maybe, I hope to go competitive. and I drew a chart on how to improve! My strength lies mainly in my flexibility, and techniques and physical strength also help nail the moves. I would need to work on dance as I maintain the techniques though. Freestyling, floor work and flow/transition on the pole would be the next focus. Strong but not yet graceful. I'll get there one day
