Radio Today appoints new Managing Editor
We've been making some changes behind the scenes here at Radio Today recently, which have resulted in the appointment of site founder and owner Roy Martin as Managing Editor. Roy takes over from Stuart Clarkson who was appointed Editor at the beginning of 2011. Stuart is now concentrating on other external projects and freelance work but will continue to be part of our events coverage team at the upcoming Student Radio Awards and The Radio Festival. Roy says: "I'd like to thank Stuart for making a real difference to Radio Today over the last few years, most recently as Editor of the website and newsletter, and introducing our magazine in Q4 of 2011. We'll certainly miss him on a day-to-day basis." Roy created the site in 2004 and has been contributing to it around his full-time work at Real and Smooth Ltd, which he left yesterday. Previously Roy set up Lancashire station The Bee, and was part of the team to win the Blackburn licence in 2004. He's also worked as a presenter and producer at various north west stations including The Bay, Wish FM, Rock FM, 2BR, Dee 106.3, Magic 999 and Lakeland Radio. Roy adds: "We've got some exciting plans for 2013 and we can't wait to tell you about them - the first of which will be within the next couple of weeks."
