fellow german here: when i first saw someone use ss to shorten suicide squad i literally needed a minute to figure out they meant suicide squad. but i do think it's bc we're german and we learn a lot more abt nazis in school than other countries (although i also consider this to be general knowledge)

yeah i am realizing that as well right now, seems as if germans are more sensitive about the topic…

7. Book you laughed the hardest reading?

know not why by hannah johnson. i was laughing my ass off the entire time i read it. basically it’s about this guy named howie who starts working at a tiny craft store to get girls, but instead he starts crushing on his uptight male boss named arthur. howie is a little bit of an ass at the beginning, but he’s fucking hilarious and he really grows and matures as a person as the book progresses. it’s a pretty lighthearted book but it does deal with some serious issues like homophobia and grief

an excerpt: “He gives me a slight smile. I simultaneously want to, like, build shrines to it and punch it off his face. It’s complicated.”

not specifically but i do watch youtubers and if they review books i usually watch those

they honestly have one of the shittiest staffs/support teams i’ve ever seen. but of course, it doesn’t matter because they know they won’t lose their audience. we’ll just have to keep fixing this broken website until either they get their shit together or an alternative website pops up.
